That loss was down to Poch. Even in the second half when the only job they had to do was not concede he had them playing a high line, he did nothing to combat the Juventus subs either.

3 games in 7 days and TBH if I had to pick one to lose it was tonight. Win on Saturday and I get to visit my brother in Woking again on my way to Wembley. |

That is a complete contradiction, how can they state that the 'attendance figures' can be anything other than those who actually ATTEND.
If they want to do that they should call it the seats sold figure, not attendance figure. |
Re: Season 2017/2018

I had a brief trawl through the Premier League handbook and couldn't find the rule that the article refers to, indeed I did find "Form 11" Which clubs have to complete after each fixture. That requires them to report to the PL the number of tickets sold AND the actual number attending. I guess the important bit is PUBLICLY.... |
Re: Season 2017/2018
Can't say we've ever had that problem in Newcastle. Not to blow our own trumpet.
Think we all but sealed our premier league survival yesterday. Hopefully that will allow Staveley to push ahead with a takeover in May or it remains to be seen if other parties want to take a pop at it. Can't see Benitez signing on again without the takeover. He'll run his last year out next season. |

Re: Season 2017/2018
Just dragging the topic back. It made me wonder how we totted up attendance figures back before the now common standard of scanned ticket turnstiles. I just came up with the assumption that they'd use counters and then the turnstile would report their numbers through to the head guy and add them all up? :erm:

Liverpool to win the whole thing. What a story. I don't doubt City's ability to rack up 3 away goals in quick time here though. If they can keep City at nil they're laughing, a goal at the Ethiad would end it.

Any team would struggle to maintain that 100 mph football for 90 minutes, will be a case of hanging on now.
|
Re: Season 2017/2018
I believe Liverpool are actually the best attacking force in the league. Absolutely ruthless when they throw the kitchen sink. Just not the best all round team. They've once again caught City swinging their tails about by hitting them with sheer brute force yet again. The famous Pep got done twice by the same thing.
An away goal at the Etihad kills this dead. Its still a big ask regardless for City to get back into this game. Would love Liverpool to win but Real are rampant once again for the hat-trick of wins. I still think Liverpool going forward will shell shock both Real and Barca. |
Re: Season 2017/2018
The second half was perfect bus parking, shame about the bus wrecking. I would be chuffed for James Milner more than anyone, voted player of the year at City then unceremoniously dumped by Pep as soon as he arrived.
|
Re: Season 2017/2018
Milner is a great utility player but he's no Pep player. Pep is getting there. He's got the league locked down and i think they'll only come back even stronger next year, heading towards a Barca style year for City where they run wild in all competitions. I can't think of any other team still in I'd want to win it more than Liverpool though. Be typical of a club with no Premier League title to their name.
