The last info I was told was on July 13th about BT Sports - I was told it was set to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

Still cant get sky atlantic confirmed - from anyone I know.

I have to say that with just over a week to go I would have thought VM would have of least given it's customers an update. Must be imminent.

VM seem to like Tuesdays and Thursdays so I go for the 25th or the 30th :)

at the moment it does yes but we don't know what channels VM adding yet if nothing lots will be downgrading

Yet another example of the shabby way VM treats it's customers. They ask us to register for updates that simply never arrive.

VIP pack doesn't exist.

VIP Collection is Premiere with; better broadband, Sky Sports/Movies HD and unlimited calls. As Sports/Movies HD costs £39 alone, £11 for unlimited calls and 40mb faster broadband isn't too shabby.

I think you wlll find that if it is in XL pack and there is a slight extra cost ether to get channel on package price then i am safe. I am only down and out if its in XL and customers dont have to pay anything for it :D

If these channels were launching next week then surely VM would be shouting about the fact by now. It would be a big deal for VM to get Atlantic and BT sports after everything that has gone on and their silence speaks volumes to me.

Hope we don't gain any Asian channels on VM. We have plenty of those in my opinion. Knowing my luck, we will probably get more news, music and shopping channels. Or perhaps some niche channels that are only on Sky or summat. Or is that simply me. In my opinion, I want to see:

Food Network/Travel Channel +1
Horse & Country
Sky News/Sky Sports News HD
Nat Geo Wild HD
HISTORY HD/CI HD/CI +1
TRACE Sports
Premier Sports

My own humble personal opinion is l think we will get BT Sports on the 1st of August because in the unlikely scenario of nothing arriving on that said date then Virgin really don't know their customers very well and the consequences of nothing arriving in my mind would generate considerable ire and unhappiness and l would not want to be in their shoes if this unlikely doomsday scenario was to happen.

I think ESPN actually launched on VM a little while after the channel started broadcasting if I remember rightly. I think VM may regard the first premier league match rather than August 1st as the crucial date

According to the DS Forums, TCM +1 will be BARB reporting from 13th August, so looks like a replacement.

So at least one new channel on Virgin over the next few weeks :D

TCM2 has more or less been a TCM+1 channel for a while now

it's all getting a bit same old, same old. I suspect that some of the sources providing the info are just giving out specualtion and rumour to generate stories and interest.

Couldn't this prolonged announcement be a good sign that BT Sport is going to be on the XL package? If it was going to be a subscription then surely VM would have announced it by now. Just a thought.

Also, I know this was different circumstances but ESPN was announced on VM only around 3 days before the channel launched back in 2009.

the fact that theres no BTsports yet or never is not my worry the fact that I may be losing 4 sports channels is if this happens then I would have to really think hard about cancelling it the main reason i keep the xl tv. is for the sport.

The latest TV and Satellite Week publication shows ESPN still broadcasting and available to Virgin Media viewers after 1 August.

There is still no VM channel number against BT Sports 1 or 2, or Sky Atlantic.

I think the first paragraph is significant, but the second doesn't necessarily mean anything. It is frequently the case that channel numbers don't appear immediately - probably because they are notified to the TV magazines after the deadlines for publication.

VM current deal for new customers of half price for 12 months is very very good but expires on 31st July.

All these rumours of big channels launching on 1st August makes it a very convenient time end this deal doesn't it?!

I agree, but from VM's previous launches, they're quite happy to do things fairly patiently and low key. For example, once the channels launch, they'll probably start up some new ads to highlight their new acquisitions.

New owners but same old probrem no communication to customers they have a TiVo that could be used to advertise so but they don't use it,when itv2,3 +4 hd started I was telling to people week after launch because they didn't know and it was nearly 3 weeks before they advertised it them on the TiVo box

That was always the point of TCM2, a TCM timeshift channel, similar to the old UK Gold 2 that used to show the UK Gold daytime schedule again in the evening for those who couldn't see it, back when it ran through old EastEnders and Neighbours. Sky2 is a similar counterpart timeshift channel for Sky1.

It looks like they've decided to replace this format with a normal one-hour timeshift, which is disappointing.
