Yes, I should have mentioned them as well.

French league will struggle, only two teams now, as others seem to have sold their best players.

I find it amusing City spending 100odd m while Arsenal spend sod all. PSG have spent the same amount in nearly 2 seasons as Arsenal have in the past 7 or so years. Im not sure how Monaco will get past the rules if they finish in a Euro spot... may be a slap on the wrist. FFP the saving grace.

Again it's one of those stories that you can write without ever being contradicted. It's up there with "Team X are interested in Player Y". Nonsense stories that can never be proven wrong. Might as well dismiss any story where there is nothing more specific than 'interested', 'monitoring' or any other thing that doesn't require an action from any party.

Not sure what it is about transfer rumours but suddenly everyone has the inside scoop. :D

True...best to treat that like when you are looking for a women (ok..or a guy :))

monitoring = had a couple..scoping out the betty's (or bens)
Interested = not drunk enough yet

From BBC site

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, 26, is ready to break his promise that he would not leave the Reds for another Premier League club and join Arsenal.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...-ready-2067746

Arsenal are interested in signing Chelsea playmaker Juan Mata, 25, with the Spain international's future under scrutiny since Jose Mourinho returned to Stamford Bridge as manager.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo...a-Chelsea.html

The first one seems true, and though I dislike the player, he is good.

The second is a player i like, just don't see the move happening, but if it did, he would be excellent for arsenal

Tim Vickery on Bernard 59:45 mins in

http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/wf

"He (Bernard) has been linked with everyone, linked with Liverpool, linked with Werder Bremen, linked with teams in Ukraine he's the one that everyone wants. Nothings going to happen until Wednesday because Wednesdays the second leg of that Copa Libertadores Final Atletico Mineiro his team against Olimpia of Paraguay. Bernard was suspended for the 1st leg so they will be desperate to get him back because they lost 2-nil so infront of their own fans Bernard latching onto Ronaldinhos passes thats Atletico Mineiro at their best, the two of them Ronaldinho and Bernard are like one force really Ronaldinho supplies the passes and vision and Bernard supplies the pace. He's also very clever because in football pace alone is never enough what he has is the ability of timing the run he does it soo well he knows when to use that pace and hes very good technically. He is tiny in a way its a similar story to Lionel Messi he had a similar sort of growth hormone problem and he was also treated for it. You do worry a little bit him going to English football if thats his destination. I know Juninho at Middlesbrough done perfectly well and Juninho had a heart of lion and Bernard looks mentally tough as well but it is a step up. I told this story but I think its relevant he came on for the last 10 mins in that friendly vs England just over a month ago the 2-2 draw in the Maracana and in the press conference after the game Scolari Brazils coach said Bernard had said after the game 'wow coach that was a little bit more intense than I've seen before' and that tells you why some of the Brazilian players struggle when they first come to Europe because that was the last 10 mins of end of season friendly and he found it a little bit on the intense side so if he comes straight into the Premier League he's going to lose his bearings for a little while. My hope is, and this is selfish hope I'd like him to stay a little bit longer partly because I love him and love watching him and Ronaldinho together but I was talking to a journalist from the city Belo Horizonte a couple of days ago and he said the club want to cash in, they want to sell they have a player called Luan a ready made substitute they reckon so they think its time to cash in. There might be a work permit problem he doesn't have strictly enough international caps to qualify but the fact hes been in the confederations cup squad should tip the balance his way but as I say I don't think we'll get any progress until Thursday because until Wednesday night all of his thoughts will be on the second leg of the Libertadores Final."
Arsenal need to wrap this one up!

Yes, it looks certain Pa**** Cisse is on his way out of Newcastle. Gomis and Darren Bent should be Newcastle United players next week.

Combined fee of about £13-15 million with £15-20 million received for the departing Cisse assuming Anzhi take him. Playing the beliefs card and money card in the same hand really lost him support up here, we didn't mind his shirt issue and supported his stance... until he sought out more money. Won't wear a Wonga branded top but will happily go play in a Racism filled league for ridiculous money, honestly -_-

It's a certainty we will, Demba Ba was the player we needed, he scored goals regardless of how they went over the line, Cisse without a doubt had one of the best starts of a striker in the Premier League but it became clearer he's another Obafemi Martins to us, a scorer of great goals but not a great goalscorer. Bent is a pure poacher and an excellent finisher, we shouldn't care how good they look at the end of the day.

I'll miss Cisse's sheer ridiculousness though, that 35 yarder against Southampton last season, the goal against Chelsea.

Yes, I read an article about Moyes short memory, and the bleating he did about Lescott, then forgets about that when it involves his team. Usual selective memory, maybe it's the drink

Its not arrogance at all. He has never said he won't move to United, if anything he has said he is open to a move, if he is unwanted by Barca. If anything, it is arrogant to think he will go back to Arseanl just because they have a clause. He left to win trophies, why would he go back to a team that still doesn't win trophies?

I would read the posts in the thread but theres so much rubbish posted it gets a bit tiresome ;)

Cesc Fabregas rules out move from Barcelona to England

"I've always said that I'm happy at Barca. Whoever says that I'm leaving doesn't know me and has never spoken with me," the Spain international said. "If someone says I don't want to play at Barca, it's completely absurd."

Do you understand what arrogance means? You're telling me if Barca accept an offer for Fabregas from United he won't go? Just because he doesn't want to leave doesn't mean he won't leave, they are completely different things.

Valencia need money, they needed money back when David Villa was sold too but they were never bullied into selling at a cut price. Soldados decent, I wouldn't say he's 25m worth but his inclusion in the national squad will no doubt hold that valuation.

Nothing i have said is arrogant, but you carry on thinking that if you want.

At the end of the day i seriously doubt United would make a second bid for a player they thought they had no chance of signing. Theres definitely something there, indications Barca will sell and Fabregas is open to a move.

I really don't know how to feel about this. no one can deny hes quality but the baggage is something else. what i will say though is i trust the club if they go for him. Napoli could easily sign Higuain right now offering Real what they want which could instantly be used to buy Suarez. Arsenal do have to act fast now.

You're actually hilarious. Barcelona love putting hiked release clauses in contracts, so to do Real Madrid plus the other clubs in Spain too to ward off interest. And how in the hell does release clauses mean little in Spain when we've just seen (the latest example) Barcelona sweat?

Re the clause. I heard that it only means that if Fab wants to go back to Arsenal, does the clause enact. If he doesn't want to go (for whatever reason, ie money, trophies etc), then other team can get him.

Stick to Santa clauses.

All this talk of release clauses is nonsense. First of all few know for sure what the clauses actually are and they're often pointless. If Barcelona accept a bid from United then Fabregas can go there. If the release clause is £200 million then it show how pointless it is because they'll accept far less than that....

Based on what? You're saying they would turn down a £60 million bid? £100 million bid? If United come in with an offer Barcelona like they can accept. I think we can all agree that an acceptable bid would be less than £200 million so the clause is pointless.
