I have it set to make a new movie every 15 minutes instead of looping and overwriting the previous movie. On 32Gb at highest definition that allows for about 20 clips.

Thanks for the information Taff. :tu:

It's better than I thought it'd be to be honest, especially given the position of the sun. It'd be interesting to see some night footage when you get some. ;)

Basically a Chinese copy of an Ibanez Tube Screamer at a quarter of the price (25 quid!) and it sounds just as good imho.

I can get the good stuff trade (GE / Panasonic) but it's also all a matter of aesthetics. I hope he's happy with my choice.

Erm if his voltage is that hig his supplier should supply bulbs free

What kind of LED bulbs did you get? There's an awful lot of rubbish out there. I've been looking at GE's range of "energy smart" GU10s, they've put them into the local pub and they're every bit as good as the halogens they replaced.

I've gone for Phillips ones

I'd bought a single phillips LED GU10 from Wickes a while back as a bit of an experiment and found it to have a nice colour and pretty similar beam angle to the other GU10s in the fitting. This set of 3 is a slightly cooler yellow, but as it's the only branded 3 pack about (the fitting takes 4 bulbs) and the price was right I decided to go for it.

The light output's good, and I'm going from the original 4x25w halogens to 4x4w LEDs (equivalent 35w). That means I get 140W of lighting power versus 100W with the halogens, but for just over half the energy use of one halogen bulb.

Tis a bummer but after the injector is done then all that's left is the cam belt. (Word to the wise, don't take it on face value what is written in the service book, check the bloody invoice if available)
What i thought was a good deal has ended up costing me more than what the car is worth by a couple of hundred quid.

Indeed as you say if the cam belt goes you are talking about a bill which could be into four figures because of the damage.

Service book said belt done at 38k (now on 43k) invoice (found after I brought the car) didn't mention anything other than oil & filters so I called the garage that had done the service, their computer says no!
Additional expense but your right if it's time, get it done. I'm looking at keeping the car for at least the next 5 years so it'll be booked in for the week after next. £250 I ain't got but.......

I too hate brush/roller cleaning but like decent tools so I bought one of these years ago - it works really well, is very quick and has saved me loads of money and hassle over the years. No money ruined brushes and rollers...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76LnCKYrfLs

It does work with a cordless drill (the more revs the better) but is much more efficient using an old fashioned mains powered one so my ancient old drill is reserved for this purpose now.

An Easter present for me. I am being plagued by Groundsel in our gravel garden and I am fed up with trying to hand weed the area so I went out yesterday and bought a Gas lance.

The sight of the groundsel curling up and being incinerated gave me a worrying sense of power. I am going to wage war on the dandelions in the lawn next. :)

John has been a kill joy though. He has given me notice that if I so much as look at the moss on the drive he will confiscate my new toy. Just because the moss is under the back of the car, anyone would think it was dangerous wafting a blow torch near a petrol tank. :D

You're welcome. That invention was one of the very first things I ever bought on shopping TV (QVC IIRC) and it's been marvellous over the years. So much so that I bought another 'deluxe' set (bigger range of sizes) a couple of years later all of which I still have and use. It really is remarkable how effective, clean and quick it is. You can use a plastic bag covered cardboard box for the spinning and then throw the bag away but I tend to use a cheap plastic waste paper bin which I just rinse out and reuse. Let us know what you think when you've had chance to use it.

This subject's given me an idea for a new thread too...

Don't buy them, Kangaroo meat is unhealthy and has high levels (infact the highest of any red meat) of L-carnitine directly linked to heart disease, vascular disease and strokes.
