I hate to say it but can the league finish now. Would be a great table. Swansea and West Brom in top 3 and Liverpool relegated.

I'm still trying to get my head round Adkins' subs.

Winning 2-1 with 10-15 mins left.

Take off all three forwards and replace them with three other forwards.

What's all that about?

So we're back to how we were with Ronnie, an above-average team with one world-class player who gets us out of trouble.

Nice I suppose and I guess he's fast on his way to repaying the £24m but what happens when he gets injured? We turn in to a team like Liverpool?

Really? Where would we have been without him today? And against Fulham? I know SAF likes to start the season off slowly but teams like them and Everton we should be beating comfortably.

Well it's more than that isn't it? Remember with Ronnie we'd be outplayed by lesser teams then he'd pop up out of nowhere and pull us out of the brown-stuff? That's not how it should be for teams like United.

Well, perhaps the 'elite' teams in the Premiership shouldn't have the attitude that they're guaranteed to beat 'lesser' teams. Arrogance is one reason a lot of people dislike United...

They are still trying to find the right team , let's not forget against Everton they had two midfielders playing in defence due to injuries , Rooney and RVP played one game together then we lost Rooney through injury , I'm sure Fergie is trying to find the best player combinations.

The better teams are the ones who play better on the day; reputation & money spent have nothing to do with it.

Southampton were the better team today...

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

heres the source/full write up - http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foot...s-8104267.html

firstly PHW and Arsenal are yet again missing the point. i as well as many other fans personally have never said sign 50odd mil each players. apart from Falcao who is a dream signing realistically we have always said add players of under 20mil into the mix but that was hampered because Wenger instead banged out mega contracts to youth and players who dont deserve an increase. judgement has declined in that area. i understand by handing youth a decent deal they should man up and develope but players like Bendtner who just take the pee then act as a bad apple among the good apples screws things. furthermore when management rarely put players in their place doesnt help matters.. past! present is Bould wont take it so change is certainly underway. the payroll needs sorting out, Ivan said there is change on the way in that area and this summer window just gone proves Arsenal are changing still theres more work to be done.

it annoys me when i hear PHW speak or anyone at Arsenal about not being able to sign 50mil players. this isnt required but adding decent quality is. theres 2 things wrong. Arsenal do not see that players out in the world better than we have and secondly Arsenal is clearly about having a few quality signings surrounded by upcomers. not all those upcomers are good enough or will be and should be swapped for players that would cost under 15-20mil that would really add something to our fight. when we brought Nasri I was begging for Arsenal to coupe Ben Arfa too but his attitude was always spoken of.. this when Arsenal backed Bendtner throughout his foolish behaviour. work that one out! window just gone.. I wish we could have done a double swoop at Malaga.. Cazorla and Isco.

I do think now things will change with Bould in. if Bould manages to talk Wenger into adding that 1 or 2 player(s) to get us lifting silverware then clearly Wengers been left to wonder heedlessly while everyone else just sits back, watches then have the nerve to slate fans.. Peter Hill-Wood!!! Peter clearly says as we know that the board dont say anything to Wenger. he goes on to say Deins departure hasnt impacted anything.. is he having a laugh! whats interesting though is PHW speaks of Stan now as the main man which he is ofcourse. before it wasnt like that.

anyway we can compete but like PHW says we have to do it in another way. its possible not impossible! it just takes vision and bottle. this doesnt mean going into debt!!

theres a good amount spoken about by PHW in the above link and just confirms what us fans have come to know and debate about.

Theo wants 100oddk. Arsenal wont give it. and rightly so.

2011/2012/2012(summer)

Arsenal
Transfer revenue: 110.387.200 £
Transfer expenditures: 94.798.000 £
Transfer Net: +15.589.200 £

Liverpool
Transfer revenue: 29.405.200 £
Transfer expenditures: 94.974.000 £
Transfer Net: -65.568.800 £

Liverpool have spent pretty much the same amount as Arsenal and have the Carling Cup to show for except your in debt. Arsenal have had possibly the worse team under Wenger and still managed top 4 within budget. May I add the worse team under Wenger whom beat the best Tottenham side in all those years.

The transfer window is closed till the 1st of January and l think the only loans allowed are emergency loans if the situation is deemed to be a emergency by the authorities.

Damien 10-09-2012 18:53

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

Liverpool can't get a emergency loan. They don't have a lack of strikers, they have a lack of good strikers, and it's hard for them to argue it's an emergency when they were happy to enter the season in this condition.

The only times emergency loans are sanctioned is usually for goalkeepers.

It is a shame but he is a great player for us and he will be missed when he retires at end of seaosn

Indeed he will be missed. He is a legend. Scholes, Giggs and Nevile (Gary) are how players should be. Loyal to the club, never complain when they dont play and play for the club and because they want to and not for the money.

On the game itself, I was disappointed in Sunderland. They gave the ball away an awful lot. Liverpool should have taken advantage. So it doesn't auger well when Liverpool can't beat a sunderland team playing poor. I thought McClean especially was poor. Seen him play a lot better

Perhaps you need to have a word with Roberto and explains to him the intricacies of playing basketball in the penalty area.;):D

Obvious dive.

And I like Garcia..he can head a ball

As to the handball, I'm sympathetic to ref missing it. i always thought crouch looks like a giraffe on roller skates :)

And elbow on balotelli should have been red

Gervinho 2-1 :D

The team as it is playing seems to suit Gervinho. Might be an argument that playing everything through or to RVP held rest back (confidence)

Diaby needs to come off, risking a red here. It's a bit of a meh performance. Can't work it out but something isn't clicking. Sloppiness I guess and we're dealing with their wingers effectively.

---------- Post added at 21:27 ---------- Previous post was at 21:14 ----------

I hate watching Arsenal when they're like this. I don't know what's going on but they're not keeping the ball, affording them too much space, and just sitting back. Very edgy right now.

Montpellier deserve a lot of credit. Seems like they've been waiting for this game at the expense of their league campaign. Full of energy even 85 minutes in.
