Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
Boxnation have picked up Garcia Vs. Judah at the very last minute. The fight should be on between 2:30am to 3:30am. The Martinez Vs. Murray fight has also been moved. The fight is outdoors and the weather has taken a turn for the worse. Martinez Vs. Murray could be starting anywhere between 1:00am and 1:30am. Guys over at Boxrec, who are watching an international stream have suggested the fight might be off if the weather gets worse!

Froch Vs. Kessler should be good however for whatever reason I've not really been bitten by the bug for this one. Usually I'm buzzing weeks in advance for big British fights but I'm passive about this one. I'm not even sure if I'll buy the event yet. I'm sure the week long promo shows on SKY Sports will sway my mind! |
Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
Froch VS Kessler on Virgin Media.
Virgin Media are not broadcasting the right information (V and V+ Boxes Channel 0.) The boxing will not be shown until Wednesday at 5pm and will end at 10pm on Sunday night. Info was found on my Ex-Sky box tonight as Sky Box Office showing an movie from midnight on Sunday on the stream that Sky are using to broadcast the Boxing. |

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
Looking forward to Froch Vs. Kessler. Out in the garden just now with my brother having a couple of beers.
I know everyone is backing Froch, and he is the clear favorite however I fancy Kessler to win. Froch has been behaving a little out of character this week. Also in the stare down yesterday Froch looked away from Kessler fairly quickly, then looked away a further 2 times. I have watched 2 Froch interviews from yesterday, he looks pure white and a little red under his eyes. In the interviews Froch was rubbing his lips a lot, running his tongue over his gums and blinking very slowly. I think Froch may have psyched himself out or he's burned too much nervous energy. Froch just didn't seem to be his usual self. Kessler however has been super confident and cool through out. Kessler has suggested win, lose or draw this is his last fight. Kessler is a true warrior, I can't see him going out on a defeat or taking this fight if he thought Froch was going to beat him. Hopefull Kessler is not treating this as his retirement fund fight! |
Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
I think Kessler will nick it on points

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
Four good fights; Smith impressed me the most, Froch deserved his win on points, Bellow fights like a animal and Groves seems to outclass everyone he faces at the moment.
It does annoy me though that Sky let their presenters rabbit on when good fights are going on in the background, they should learn from BoxNation on this aspect. |

Carl Froch Vs. Mikkel Kessler II will be shown this Saturday on SKY Sports 4 from 8:30pm. If you didn't catch this on Saturday, it's worth a watch!
Good news for free to air boxing. Saturday the 08th June see's the return of live action to Channel 5 as James DeGale defends his WBC Silver Super Middlewight title against Stjepan Bozic. Chris Eubank, Kid Galahad and Hughie Fury will also feature on the card. ---------- Post added at 22:24 ---------- Previous post was at 22:19 ---------- Quote:
I would also like to see more small hall events, or at the very least international action on a delayed basis shown through the week. I'm sure it wouldn't cost too much to pick up delayed rights for action taking place in Mexico, Japan, South Africa, Philippines etc... Plenty of lower weight world title fights happening all the time that never see the light of day in the UK. |

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
i dont think boxnation have a long term deal with sauerland anymore as huck v afolabi is next week and still no sign its going to be shown! they used to have them on the schedule as soon as the fights were announced but they have missed a few of their shows recently. im sure they will get this fight sometime this week but it seems they have used up a lot of money getting the mayweather fight and the shows the weeks before it and have forgot to get any fights after this. for me frank warren needs to put more uk shows on or needs to do a deal with hatton promotions and also get frank maloney to put more shows on boxnation as the deal he had with loaded tv is no longer in place!

Last week SKY was due to show Bute Vs. Pascal as part of the Froch Vs. Kessler PPV. The fight was cancelled after Bute hurt his hand in training. Both Bute Vs. Pascal and Dawson Vs. Stevenson are being promoted by GYM Promotions in Canada. Apparently SKY re-negotiated their deal so instead of picking up Bute Vs. Pascal when it does go ahead, they are showing Dawson Vs. Stevenson instead. Nothing official yet from SKY however it should be confirmed this Thursday on Ringside. |

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
SKY have picked up Gennedy Golovkin Vs. Matthew Macklin on the 29th June. I'm expecting an announcement soon from Boxnation regarding Bernard Hopkins Vs. Karo Murat on the 13th July. The show is being jointly promoted by Goldenboy and Sauerland which makes this show as good as confirmed.
August is usually a notoriously quiet month for boxing in Britian as boxing takes an unofficial 6 week break from end of July to mid September. Not to fear however as there is a few cards out there for us fans: 16th August - Andrzej Fonfara Vs. Gabriel Campillo (ESPN / BT Sports) 17th August - Danny Geale Vs. Darren Barker (SKY Sports) 24th August - Jurgen Braehmer Vs. TBA & Arthur Abraham Vs. TBA (Unconfirmed Boxnation) |
Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
Probably will not bother with the German bill on Boxnation; they tend to have massive gaps between the bouts. The Channel 5 bill looks to be a good one - I could be wrong but I believe this is the last fight contracted to them?

Glow, Bluewater (Channel 5 & WealthTV): James DeGale (holder) v Stjepan Bozic (WBC Silver super-middleweight title); Kid Galahad v s/o; Chris Eubank Jnr v s/o; Hughie Fury v s/o; Peter McDonagh v s/o; Dani Davis v s/o; Eli Green v s/o; Sammy Cantwell v s/o. ---------- Post added at 11:25 ---------- Previous post was at 11:15 ---------- Found some more info: James DeGale v Stejpan Bozic (super-middleweight) Chris Eubank Jr. v Tyan Booth (middleweight) Kid Galahad v Isaac Nettey (super-bantamweight) Hughie Fury v TBA (heavyweight) |

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
http://www.boxnation.com/boxing-news...ss-conference/
The channel, which has been operating for 22 months, held a swanky press conference at London restaurant on Tuesday outlining future plans. The broadcaster revealed they are in talks Bill Ives, Chairman of the channel's sponsors Rainham Steel, to become a major shareholder. Ives is a long-term supporter of boxing, and fought as an amateur in the 1960s boxing in London divisional championships. Subscribers who pay just £10 a month for action from Britain and all over the world will be able to see fights in HD from later this year. Chairman Richard Brooke and board member Frank Warren also outlined plans for BoxNation to be made available overseas. Warren appeared at the press conference with promoters Ricky Hatton, Frank Maloney and Barry McGuigan, whose boxers will feature on the channel. Warren said: "The channel is going from strength to strength and when our cards go in HD our subscribers will be delighted. "Our main goal is to deliver the best fights from around the world like what we are doing with Floyd Mayweather v Saul Alvarez which is the biggest fight in the world this year. "We know what fans want and we will continue to deliver for them for years to come. "Our subscriber base is excellent right now, but of course it is event driven and there are times it is higher than others." Chairman Richard Brooke, board member George Warren and Chief of Operations JIm McMunn are working on implementing HD. Another offer coming soon is giving fans a chance to sign up for the rest of 2013 and pay just £50. Details will be released shortly. Brooke added: "Our coverage has made BoxNation the channel of champions and we have an unrivalled schedule of fights coming up. "It has been hard work, but we are here and getting bigger all the time." |

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?

Anyway the point I'm trying to make is last year during the quiet summer period, a lot of Boxnation subscribers left. I don't think Boxnation want the same summer exodus, especially with BT sports launching at the same time trying to attract sports fans to their service. I think Boxnation are simply trying to tie customers down for the rest of the year. I don't think boxnation are struggling for funds, if the Daily Mail is to be believed: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/box...die-Hearn.html "Sky had appeared to be on the brink of establishing a monopoly with Hearn until Box Nation found millions more in funding." |
