And a few months on, they'll be closing everything again. They don't seem to like having firm plans. ;)

I saw the following link on Bizasia yesterday “ZEE-Sony merger in final stages”:

I see that you have posted the following today on DS Forum:

Quote:

Two extra versions of BBC One South East (SDT labels) added overnight on SID numbers 10129 & 10130 (channel 858) but, apparently not allocated in the NIT. A massive gap in the internal serial numbers between these (2199 & 2233). Maybe Virgin have a large amount of extra channels to add!!! (P.S. don't bet on it).

A new mystery.
Maybe the 34 unknown channels are for the BBC One HD and BBC Three launch???

BBC Three HD (February 1st 2022).
-Ofcom wants Virgin Media UK to BBC Three HD launch on Virgin Channel 108 (In England and Northern Ireland only).
-Ofcom wants Virgin Media UK to launch BBC Three HD on Virgin Channel 124 (In Scotland and Wales only).

For BBC Three to launch in Scotland and Wales on Virgin Channel 124 I feel the following channels may move:

-GOLD HD - from Virgin UK Channel 124 to Virgin UK Channel 125.
-W - from Virgin UK Channel 125 to Virgin UK Channel 126.
-Ailbi - from Virgin UK Channel 126 to Virgin UK Channel 127.
-Dave - from Virgin UK Channel 127 to Virgin UK Channel 128.
-Really - from Virgin UK Channel 128 to Virgin UK Channel 172.
-TLC +1 - from Virgin UK Channel 172 to Virgin UK Channel 173.
-ID +1 - from Virgin UK Channel 173 to Virgin UK Channel 213.
-Quest +1 - from Virgin UK Channel 213 to Virgin UK Channel 214.
-DMAX +1 - from Virgin UK Channel 214 to Virgin UK Channel 215.

Also I feel the following areas need tiny up (In my view):

-Entertainment (I would move all Entertainment channnel down to sit beside their sister channels (Like E4 HD and More4) and move rest down and also merge with Lifestyle):
-Factual (Move channels down the wee bit by 11 numbers to start with Eden on Channel 261 making more room for Entertainment and Lifestyle channels):
-Lifestyle:
-Kids (After Channel 708):
-Shopping (Move to Channel 761 to make room for more kids channels to launch):
-International (After Channel 816):

No idea about the gap but I won't lose any sleep over it. I don't know why they would need 2 more versions of BBC One South East anyway. As I understand it, they already have a version set up for channel 858 and really shouldn't need 2 more of the same. Maybe they will be changed to something else later?

Re: Changes to Virgin TV (2021)

News received this morning:

The enforced obsolescence of old Liberate based hardware has been completed, with all remaining channels (BBC One (101), BBC Two (102), ITV/STV/UTV HD (103), ITV/UTV SD (113), Channel 4 or 4HD (104 or 108) and Channel 5 HD (105) now hidden from the EPG. The "Important Information" slate has moved from channel 100 to 101 and the message now reads: "This Virgin Media service is no longer supported". The slate formerly on channel 114 has now been hidden from all boxes.

The CNN International placeholder (to preserve recordings) has been removed.

BBC One HD regions started to be added to the PMT, all are now marked as encrypted. The PMT points to the existing BBC One HD video and audio stream (PIDs). Regions appear to be ordered in the same sequence as the SD versions but as the services still haven't been added to the NIT, this isn't conclusive at the moment.

And finally, the news everyone has been waiting for, the Nick Jr PAW Patrol pop-up has reverted to Nick Jr Too.:D

Basically all V boxes no longer work at all, CNN recordings won't be playable and work has started for the BBC One HD regions.

---------- Post added at 19:35 ---------- Previous post was at 19:35 ----------

Also All4 is now on the 360 boxes.
