I actually had something similar (if not the same) when connected to my Onkyo amp. I got this when I turned on the 5.1 Audio BETA option in the settings (can't remember where as I'm not at my xbox but try in Audio Settings). I had to turn this option off to have the sound function normally.

Thanks for replying. Its gave me some comfort that Im not the only one and dont have a faulty xbox.

I will try disabling the beta audio and see how I get on.

I have a feeling lots of people don't realise the kinect has a mic that is always on, took me a while to disable the thing!

Still cannot do Party chat, I get cannot do party chat or something similar.

My NATS is open, and I'm at a loss of what to do.

Is the person your partying up with nat type open ?, only other thing you can try is a hard reset , there is a dashboard update next week I believe, hopefully this will sort your problem out !!

If next week's doesn't, hopefully the March update will. It's aimed at fixing the various Live issues such as parties.

Have you tried quitting any games running in the background before joining a party? It's stupid but it did used to be an issue.

partys and multiplayer getting sorted march for definately not in this week update just before titanfall hit shelves on xbox one i read it on news wire about it
