Trouble is some of these peeps moaning will be still daft enough to pay these rip off prices (Â£7per box)I personnally wont,If everybody boycotted the HD premium price perhaps VM would have a rethink.Belive me once they get away with it this time they will be more to follow,SKY are now calling the shots im afraid,so we will have to all start getting used to it and when murdoch gets total control of SKY things will only get worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yet again....YOU don't know what these 'daft' prices are yet. Wait unitll the cross the board pricing has been announced.

The prices, whatever they are, will be relative to an individual's pocket and to how much an individual believes is value to them.

No matter how much conjecture, rumour and counter rumour is posted on any forum, Virgins pricing module will be one that HAS been set after some market research done in the field, and one that fits their business model.

A few hundred folk stamping their feet and spitting out their dummy 'threatening' not to pay any extra (when the majority actually will when it comes to it), on an internet forum will have no effect. This sort of thing happens on internet forums across a whole spectrum of subjects, and unfortunately, internet forums are full of folk that are so insular they think that their ranting is actually going to have an effect. It won't. The business in question have set their pricing....and it will only be actual revenue, or lack of it, that will change that model.

No you get basic HD at no extra cost, not free unless you are not paying for your kit.

At this time, from what we can see, VM are not going to add any more foreign language channels. This is a shame as I think it would be useful for education purposes - I watch TV5 to help me with my French.

You could try an online player such as Livestation to stream channels to your PC

not sure on the content of the channels you listed but don't ZDF show some sports ? if they do there is the issue of rights there as I don't think VM couldput any foreign channels on that show sports as the UK rights would probably be covered by another channel

Very unlikely VM will add more foreign channels beyond more Asian ones. The only solution for him would be internet tv, ARD, ZDF etc can be found on the net someplace, somewhere.

Many of the original cablecos did used to have a bouquet of foreign stations on analogue and it varied from region to region, but you would usually get one French, German, Italian and Spanish channels at a minimum. Alas, as space got limited the channels were dropped for English language ones and VM shows no inclination of changing that.

When can we expect some of the other HD channels?

i see that ss news is now on 515 and not 517, making room for the hd channels for guess?

5 hd came out the few days ago chap, i think i noticed a day after. ;)

That's interesting. SS1 and SS2 HD could have slipped in at 515 and 516 without any trouble, unless they need room for SS3 and SS4 HD too - which would be a major surprise to say the least.
