You think they are - your perogative.

Where does it say we will be getting those channels you listed??? Unless you know something we don't (and won't say) your words are Pie in the Sky - until it's official we have no idea what's coming when... ineed at present we only know 1 channel's laiunch date!

FYI i indeed moan about VM and HD but in MANY other posts i have said how great VM are as a company.

I never thought we'd get the Sky HD channels and you're right IF an WHEN we get Eurosport HD Itv etc etc then yes i for one will be pretty happy with that line up.

But given VM's HD record, If and WHEN is as long as a piece of string.

But it does now prove they are trying to get hd channels which a lot or people thought was jsut lies to keep cusotmers, fair point about the launch dates but it better than nothing

BTW, any more news if VM are carrying ESPN yet.... i would have thought today would have been an ideal opportunity for some announcement. I don't mean HD version but SD version.

Eurosport HD is being tested, they're not going to test something they're not going to launch. Channel 4 HD they already can add that to their service, they've just not done so yet. And ITV HD is a given, once the Freesat exclusivity deal runs out.

Whether you think they're great or not (FYI, I hardly watch these channels), doesn't change the fact that many people do, and VM adding these channels in HD is a great first step.

You might not like them, but FX and Living are not throw away channels.

Sorry, I don’t class Sky one as a quality channel either, just updated reruns of repeats that were on 20 odd years ago, the same as Virgin 1, if they had to adhere to the restrictions the beeb and itv had to put up with in quality of programming sky one would have been shut down in a week, as with most other channels on the cable network, most of the channels are only surviving because they are repeating old bbc and itv content, still no defence for these minority viewed programs in why they are lined up as Hd, yes your right it’s not the fact I don’t like them its more I don’t watch them, and I don’t watch them because the content is awful, they try and buy exclusive rights to one program to try and entice new customers to raise their viewing figures, I still believe I am right in the fact they are basically one program a week watchers.

I hadn't realised, Lost, Bones, 24, Prison Break, House, Family Guy and countless others were 20 years old! Learn something new every day.

Sky One is nothing like Virgin 1, it has far more quality new shows.

Thats what I hate about sky, they buy exclusive rights to series then when you think you can watch them they are then stuck on a pay per view, unfortuanately that is sky all over, money first , viewers 2nd, quality of programming 3rd.

I thought Sky one was a British channel not American

If american series are your cup of tea then sky 1 is great personally for me they are not, ditto virgin 1.

Do not regard either as quality channels i am afraid personal choice.

Quality channels for me are national geographic, discovery and history.

I also like sky arts programming. But as always whatever one person may like another may not.:tiptoe:

Aye.

People need to step away and realise that if they like the channels or not is irrelevant, they are popular channels and that's all that matters.

If VM were getting the worst possible channels in HD because they could get them easily and for nothing then sure, complain, but these are channels that will be watched by a decent number of people, so if you like them or not is irrelevant to the point that VM are heading in the right direction.
