Although its been below -3 with a low of -9 today it has been clear blue skies.

nah its not a full grown 4x4... 1 of those suzuki things from late 90s so the wheels arent that big and its not even half way at the tire so I would estimate 10-15cm

The picture is taken from a height some way above the roof of the car, looking down. The snow is a fair way past half-way up the tyre. ;) The amount of snow on the top of the car roof should give you a clue as to the true depth.

Away from the side of the house, in the middle of the lane, the depth this afternoon was at least 15", possibly 18" in places. Say about 40cm.

No work today :( had another 4inch last night ,my van was cleared of yesterday to give a clue as to how much has come down last night from 11.30pm onwards

Also we are having quite a lot of thunder and lightning ,never had that before in snow storms

WTF!!!!!!!!! I just opened my front door here in Cambridge and i saw a Jogger going past in Lycra shorts and carrying a torch!!:shocked::shocked::D
Theres snow on the ground, sub zero temperatures and its snowing again lightly. Do these people run in all weather? :):rolleyes::D

Snowing heavily in Lincoln. Traffic is still moving. just...

I wonder what we'll wake up to in the morning. Doesn't bode well for the Lincoln Christmas Market this weekend.
