His Dark Materials Season 2 will only be 7 episodes.

They were unable to film a planned 8th episode due to the CV19 shutdown.

Witcher prequel series in the works:

Netflix wants to give its subscribers a deeper look into the universe of The Witcher TV series. The streaming service has ordered a six-episode series that will delve into the world of the first Witcher.

According to Netflix, The Witcher: Blood Origin will be set 1,200 years before the time of Witcher’s Geralt of Rivia and will tell the tale of the “conjunction of the spheres,” when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one.

Indeed, I wasnt sure what I would make of Witcher, but despite being slow to start, it was a good series.

There wasn't enough character development or action in it for me. Ep 1 was the best and it went downhill from there. If it had aired during the normal tv season and I had other stuff to watch I would have given up on it early on.

The missing episode was to be an excursus into the backstory of Lord Asriel. It does not seem to have been an integral part of the retelling of The Subtle Knife, which is Pullman’s 2nd HDM book and which is the basis for season 2 of the tv series. It looks like they exhausted the book’s material after 7 episodes and planned an eighth just to fill the schedule. I suspect they will only feel motivated to revisit it later if a significant amount of production was already complete, and if any of the future seasons come up short.

A Discovery of Witches returns for Season 2 in 'Early' January 2021.

No official date, but TV Maze has it listed for Mondays (so 4th or 11th), they also state the season will be 10 Episodes.

Seasons 1 & 2 will also be available on Netflix later in the year. I presume due to licensing with Youtube.

Netflix is advertising 28 August for seasons 1 and 2 of Cobra Kai appearing on the platform.

Brill, I was hoping season 3 would move to a mainstream provider. Just like The Expanse, series like this deserve international distribution. Who hasn't heard of and love The Karate Kid. Having to pay for it on youtube was too restrictive and once it is available on Netflix there will be a massive surge in popularity. They are doing the right thing by making seasons 1 and 2 available first.
