Ah, so that's how it works. I was worried that I would end up paying more than I needed to. I see now that it works the same way as a normal auction where I can leave a bid with the Auctioneer but he will only use my reserve to take my bids over a competitors.

Here are some simple rules about Ebay http://couponing.about.com/od/online...ns/a/ebay2.htm

Thanks for the links Masque. :tu:

Somehow I think this first show of ebay auction bravery on my part may also be my last. It all smacks to much of game playing and not something I enjoy. All tooooooo much strategy for this plain soul to cope with I'm afraid.

I was so happy to find the things on ebay after searching for so long. Why can't I just buy the dratted things and be done with it. LOL This is turning into a moan and taking the thread off topic. Sorry folks.

Remember though that you do not have to just bid on items on Ebay as the are plenty of Buy it Now auctions where you pay the price for the item such phone batteries, phone covers even art products and they are usually cheaper than going to the store.:)

You do artwork for a living and probably use certain brands try searching for them on Ebay and you may be pleasantly surprised.;)

In fact most of my recent purchases have been Buy it Now ones.:)

:D Everything I have bought over the last few years from ebay have been from Buy it Now sellers and I have bought everything from art supplies to a kitchen sink in the past. It's only the auction items that I have shied away from and I would have continued to do so if the items I have been looking for for several years had been available any other way.:(

I had put "Citylink" in the moans thread but they have been clearing the back log and delivered on a Sunday which was great as I received my order today!

One new Space Invaders carpet has now arrived.
