Re: Changes to Virgin TV (2021)
Movies 24 may close in 2022.
My sources has told me "The future of Movies 24 has got an question mark over it but no decision has been made on it as of yet." |
Re: Changes to Virgin TV (2021)
I'd rebrand it as Sky Cinema Mix (with better films)

The type of films they show are frowned upon by many, but there is still an audience, I know someone who has significant periods of watching a lot of it. Most of their content doesn't seem to have a UK outlet elsewhere, aside from the odd bit on Channel 5 daytime. There's an audience and library of content out there for whoever picks it up, should Movies24 close. Whereas the Christmas movie content that boosts their ratings significantly (relatively speaking) every year would be a natural fit for the Great! Movies Christmas channel during its yearly rebrand, Great! doesn't have a "TV movie" channel during the rest of the year anymore as it used to years ago in a previous incarnation. Given many of the Sky-branded entertainment genre-named channels have similarly low ratings, and they are unlikely to shut those down any time soon, they may just rebrand the main Movies24 as Sky Romance & Mystery and close the Movies24+ channel. |

But I have been told that ViacomCBS are looking into taking over the rights from BT Sport. |

Sarcastic replies like that do no good - if people state things it is reasonable for others to ask for proof of what is obviously their opinion not fact. Others are saying it may be announced tomorrow or in the near future. |

I have to be very careful what i say and yes i'm sarcastic. ---------- Post added 04-11-2021 at 00:54 ---------- Previous post was 03-11-2021 at 23:50 ---------- To add... If i was to "such and such is launching on this day" then something happens that delays the launch it makes me look aight plonker, this is why i never reveal days because things can change and i hope i have built up a trust with fellow posters on here and i wouldn't want to betray that trust by giving a date only for it not to happen on that date. |

Channel 5 group already show weekly WWE programming in the UK after BT Sport have aired it - so would be an amendment to an existing rights deal.

Re: Changes to Virgin TV (2021)
We have just found the following on the Ofcom web site
Licensee for Baby TV is Baby Network Limited So maybe that why Disney did not axe Baby TV when the Disney was being axe early this year. Also Nat Geo Channels has no License listed on Ofcom web site.... |

http://mavise.obs.coe.int/q/ondemand/Baby%20TV The same above for National Geographic and National Geographic Wild, which now broadcasts from Spain since December 2020. The channels are probably still managed from London, as playout can be managed remotely. http://mavise.obs.coe.int/q/ondemand...graphic?page=2 |
