Not for that reason, though, a little point you missed in your reply.

Are you suggesting that Reform supporters, switched to voting Labour just to get someone into Parliament who will oust the current PM?

Surely then it would be better for Reform supporters to have, well, voted Reform, keep Burnham out and ‘lame-duck’ Starmer in place.

Or am I missing some cunning plan here?

Jem, it’s exactly what the voters were saying - they said they would vote for Burnham to get Starmer out.

It makes sense. They hate Starmer up there. He’s not exactly popular in the South, either, is he? If Reform won, it would have no bearing on whether the PM would leave.

Plenty of them said they could not vote Reform for that very reason.
You need to apply some critical thinking here and not just repeat Reform's latest excuse without at the very least, sense-checking it first.

Well that depends on your POV, 34 is young to me these days. ;)

It's what people were saying on the street. Did you not see this on the news?

No, they did not. I agree that some women said that, but most said they were more concerned with policies than what the Reform candidate said in his younger days.

His "younger days" were in 2021 and 2022 (when he made some the comments about Voderman and abortion…), when he was 36/37…

I doubt the headlines would be positive, they'd more likely be about her very poor judgement in appointing them in the first place, and how she's wasted 2 years on a bunch of losers and is only getting rid of them now in desperation (probably too little too late to be honest with you).

There is a positive however, you surely can't be the only party member who can see she's not very good when it comes selecting people for the top jobs. The rest of us saw that when she took over and saw her top team for the losers they are way back then. There's hope for you yet my friend ;).

There's much worth in what you say. However, my take is that when she made her appointments, she was vulnerable to the bad will of the people she defeated for the leadership. So she appointed them.

But yes - they should have been dumped by now, especially when the Chagos stuff was the top headline.

You need an Andy, but certainly not a Nigel.
