Don't forget folks that VM have already announced that they will be putting Living HD on their EPG in the near future.
As far as those six that are currently testing I for one will be chuffed to receive the likes of History, Nat Geo and Eurosport in HD.
I honestly cannot see what you are moaning about Arthur:confused: if these six are the new HD channels thats pretty decent indeed...what on earth were you expecting VM to announce, all the Sky channels in HD?

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)

The thought of HD channels on VM, would be something like ITVHD etc the channels that MOST people like to watch.

I might add that l am NOT going anywhere, my grump is that we have waited so long to get HD channels, you would have thought, we would have something decent.

If constantly moan, then it is for a reason, And yes, l was sexpecting some Sky channels especially sport, and don't foget ESPN WILL be in HD.

Sky sports HD :p::p::p: Your having a laugh, not likely to get them in the distant let alone near future, they are skys subscription driver at present and until ofcom act not likely to be on any other platform soon signed.

Uncle Rupert.x

Ps I may well have persuaded my mate dave to have scrapped ofcom by then. :D

First bolded bit is your opinion, and there could have been much worse HD channels available.

Second bolded bit, you're clearly living in a dream world then. There is no way Sky will be letting their HD channels go any time soon, despite Ofcom ordering them to sell them on at a reasonable price, they're not happy to do so and are fighting it in any way they can.

Given that the Sky channels would never appear in HD at this point, that doesn't leave many decent HD channels for VM to add, and the ones they've got are some of the best available.

There will be eurosport hd so is tha tnot a sport hd channel?

no one said they wont have espn hd its in espn interest to have ther ehd channel on virgin, techically the espn channel itself is not been offically annouced ot launch on virign even tohugh we all know it will be now since it been assigned epg and said to be coming from rebrand of espn america. you forget espn hd isnt even on sky yet so give it to the begining of the seaosn of footbal if the espn hd is not htere then complain but as for the res toyu have the right to complain but i can not honestly get why there decent channels

At the end of the day they will be free so when they do launch i will cancel my £9.75 hd sub and watch them on vm instead.History does have some good programmes on also the tour de france is superb as always on eurosport hd and if it is those channels that are launching it will be sweeter as i said before they will be free.

People are moaning about no HD, then when VM add 6 HD channels for testing, people still moan

I don't think VM can win with people on here

And how many HD channels do Sky have?

Fact is Virgin have dragged their heels for so long now on HD that Sky now have an unassailable lead over them. 6 channels is obviously better than the 0.5 they have now, but they should be adding 20 or 30 of them, and getting EVERY new HD channel that launches on day one. They need to be agressive.

The lack of any HD movie channels is obviously a huge omission too, as is the lack of any of Sky's content. Sky One for all it's brain dead, lowest common denominator tabloid sewage does ocassionally show some good US sourced drama, which must be seen in HD.

the issue is that Sky tie up all HD channels as soon as they launch due to having the market power to do so. its all to do with being the being the biggest PPV tv supplier/broadcaster in the world that gives you an advantage like that.
yea we all know its a bitch of a way to do things but thats buisness.

the reason we are getting the 6 we are is because they are the longest running channels in HD and are most likely at the end of their exclusivity deal with Sky. we may find as more HD channels exclusivity deals expire we get more channels. but this is all down to VM and if they want to get into HD in a big way like Sky or if they want to just want to offer enough to tease people.
