I'd go with a Samsung Galaxy S 2... I'd say it's still the best Android phone on the market (and has the best battery life of any smartphone I've used so far - approx 3 days running on 2G only and about 2 days on 3G)

They *may* have fared better if they had designed a new case around the shiny new insides, and critically increased the screen size a little, at 3.5 inches its most definitely at the lower end of the market, retina display or no.

I haven't had the chance to look around the World in depth yet, but from the sites I have seen, the general feeling is of a letdown and disappointment, which is unusual post keynote, where normally Apples marketing has a lasting feelgood factor.

What is he afraid of? That people will think you have last year's gadget when you've just replaced it with this year's gadget?

So it looks like we'll have UK information, including carrier (hopefully O2), and price next week.

Many people seem to think that Apple are launching an iphone 5. I don't want to dissapoint people, but I was told by Vodafone that it will just be an updated iphone 4 (iphone 4gs), and not an iphone 5.

How eerie is this? In 1987, Apple made a video about a system that enables you to interact with your computer using voice and natural language. That video is (according the the calander visible in some shots) set in September 2011.

On October 4th, 2011, Apple announced Siri, a system that apparently enables you to interact with your phone using voice and natural language..

I wouldn't expect to see an iPhone 5 until June at the earliest, although I expect Apple are scratching their collective heads at the moment and wondering why there's a lot of: if not negative publicity, lets call it at least 'not positive' and that's a real first after a keynote session.

They are surely aware that technically, the specs of the 4s aren't really ground breaking and are certainly not cutting edge, although I concede the camera on it is up in the top 3 or 4 of any current camera phone. The opposition (mostly Android) are already pushing significantly higher specced offerings now, and who knows what will be available in another 8 months time.

Time for Apple catchup?

Oh well :erm:

I should have posted that a couple of weeks ago when they told me, then I wouldn't feel so stupid now

Agreed...I would have changed to an Android phone if I didn't have a stereo with an ipod docking station

This is why I have been looking at the Blackberry Torch 9860. Im visually impaired, so that resolves the screen problem. Everyone I know has a BB, and is on BBM, and they have software available for the mac as well.

Nearly all android phone update over the air. No need for a pc or mac. The Samung Galaxy S2 is the best android phone out there. Even has built in divx player!

BBM is apparently coming to android and iOS soon.
