Yes that is certainly a good idea but alas with everything from the kitchen in the other rooms space is non existent apart from walking space from room to room :walk::tiptoe: and chairs to sit on as you cannot swing a cat here currently but hopefully by the end of next week the kitchen will be all finished.:cleader:

I'm so pleased for you den as I know first hand just how much of a upheaval a new kitchen causes I bet you will notice a huge difference. I bet you have missed the home cooking, I know my lot did and I never thought my hubby & kids would ever get fed up with Chinese, fish & chips from the chippie etc but they did.

Hi Weenie, The trip was beautiful Weenie, every Bay is beautiful. The driver was an excellent guide. He took us past Alan Wickers grave and also the grave of Billy Butlins, Billy's grave stone was enormous and shaped like a poster bed all in black marble. Seemingly him and his wife done an awful lot for the Island as did Alan Wicker, there houses were worth millions, The houses in millionaires row are out of this world, The flower arrangements all over the Island are so beautiful, each Bay we came across was outstanding, The weather yesterday and today is really hot too, We managed to find some country music in a hotel last night and we are going to another hotel tonight for more country music. So that is what makes our holiday too. Forgot to say Kenneth More lived here too if you remember him, Nash ;)

Fifty years ago today England beat Mexico 2-0 at Wembley, in their 2nd group stage match on route to winning the World cup.

OH yeah and my Mum & Dad got married, and went to Guernsey for their honeymoon.

So last night we all went to with my sisters family to our local Beefeater and had a big meal.

Osem Jnr successfully completed his 'Pass Plus' driving course. Hopefully he'll get a reduction in his car insurance.

After a trip to hospital in a nice ambulance and a couple of hours in A&E this morning, Osem Jnr #2 has recovered from a rather nasty looking allergic reaction. Happily he's now back to his usual inscrutable, moody, self and having some lunch... :)

Just a quick tip on the insurance Osem, adding you as a named driver to his policy will get a discount ( provided you have been a good boy of course ;) )

I got my son's insurance down below £500 by adding me and his mum to the policy. He is 17 1/2. :)

Saved hubby a couple of hundred pounds :) he will be pleased last week I phoned Vauxhall and they said I was looking at anything between £350.00 - £425.00 to replace the full front driver side door window mechanism. Today I bought a second hand one from ebay for best offer of £25.00 instead of the asking price of £29.95. I think one deserves a bottle of Prosecco and some nice flowers for that saving. The price included free P&P http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1418364956...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I never thought that they would accept my offer tbh

Had a nice business lunch up at the local Toby carvery with the project leader and a German engineer over from Kassel on some work I'm doing for them. I opted for the carvery sandwich they do: Beef in a baguette and it comes with roasties, a jumbo Yorkie and a jug of gravy for just over 4 quid. Quite filling.:)

Nash the trouble with most local councils is the cut backs they face at the moment take North Lanarkshire for example they have budget cuts that they decided to do over two year period why I will never know as South Lanarkshire and other have not done this. North Lanarkshire a making cuts to some of it's vital services and outsourcing them to private contracts and I think some of the grass cutters section could be affected in these cuts eventually that's if the cuts for these services goes to plan. Take the large mechanical sweeper vehicles that keep our roads cleaned they are getting outsourced and the people who will suffer because of this cut is the people in housing estates as these companies will only do the main drag but I could be wrong as this is just my opinion nash.

I personally agree with it's time to stop outsourcing-local-authorities-contract-services as it's the wee man on the street who suffer's at the end of the day!

I know what you are saying Weenie, They come and cut my neighbours grass, 4 men one machine 3 stand and watch and then they all go back in the van and sit for half an hour before they move on. Managed to get a alarm fitter that was within our chosen budget. I'm pleased to say that it will be fitted on Thursday, the guy was great and gave us what hubby was looking for what the alarm consists of is 1 Control Panel with Auto Dialler to his phone, 1 x wireless bell box, dummy box for the back, 3 x Wireless Pet Friendly Pir's, 3 x Door Contact, 3 X Key Fobs and 4 proximity tags it also comes with panic alarm.

What I liked about this alarm is it can be added to at a later date if we feel the need to do so as he said do you want your mobile added and I said no thank you I don't want to know if or when my home is getting broken into maybe I will add this feature at a later date as the option is their.

I'd have added my mobile, the vast, vast majority/ hopefully all activations will be false alarms. Make sure you dust the pirs regularly, don't leave windows open near them and don't let sunlight cross their beams.

Only 77, on the first of last month I managed to book a 29.5 hour day which I was pleased about, reminded me of that monty python sketch about Yorkshire people and not knowing you're born. I only actually did 5.5 hours work in that 24 hour period which made it even better

An ex-colleague was called to repair a huge TV that had died. He checked with the manufacturer for the parts and was quickly informed that that set was part of a batch stolen in transit.

Police informed, set confiscated, 3 other sets found in their families' homes, "owners" arrested for receiving stolen goods. Police investigating further.

What a lovely surprise den, I love it when my husbands family turn up from England for a surprise visit. We a having his Uncle coming up soon I think it's the 12th then my Mother in Law will be going back down the road with him for a week or two. I'm well chuffed with the new alarm and the wee one has used it today using his proximity tag which I think is ideal for him as he doesn't have to worry about the alarm code & fob - he simply presents the proximity tag to the area on the alarm it's dead easy for him to use. I will say the only thing what I find annoying is when someone opens the back door or front door it says very loudly either back door open or front door open, I will need to get hubby to lower the volume as I have not got a clue how to go about that other than that I'm well pleased with it.

Nice one, was going to say last night when weenie hoped for a big win that there was no need to hope as you always win but didn't want to jinx you.

Sorry to disappoint everyone, still alive and well. Got called into work yesterday at ten past 10 Saturday night, and it was with my manager. She acted like last week never happened. So I'm totally confused.

Shes professional, just keep doing your job well and don't mess up again as you don't want to lose it.

Make sure you haggle for a full tank of petrol and a set of car mats.

What does he need petrol for, to burn it if he doesn't like it

Maybe making an idiot of myself was what was needed, this week manager has been in a great mood with me, laughing and joking. I've been picked to do a couple of little jobs for her, and we even joked around with a bet that sees me now having to buy her a Costa coffee whenever we work together before end of August. 5 times before the end of the month.

Used my freshly fixed shredder to demolish a large pile of brambles, twigs and ivy. Reduced it to about 6 bucketfuls that I dumped in the back of the borders. I would have put it in the large composter but I didn't want to disturb the wasps nest.:erm:

I can only imagine the preparation for your weekend break dilli but I'm sure it will have been worth it.

Enjoy your break dilli, you both deserve it :)

I go on my hols tomorrow for the first time since 2014.

We should have been in a silver plus caravan, but the owner pulled it from the site, so we have been given a gold caravan.

The minor bug is from 3 bedrooms down to 2, but I don't mind sleeping on the sofa bed.

But if a 3 bedroom caravan does become available it'll be ours.
