GinxHD isn't going to happen mate they don't have the money, they are even trying to get people to contact Sky for them to get on the Sky platform.
I don't think Ginxtv itself will last much longer, pity as it's a great channel for the gamer.

At least we know it's not a red button channel, like SKY Sports Xtra, and will be broadcast in HD.

Thanks for posting info.

They don't get 3, 4 and F1 as it is, so not surprising they won't get 5

Not sure yet if this is a whole channel or just a programming slot on channel5 but source seems to think it will replace 5+24.

If this comes off, 5+24 didn't last long! Don't know what it's ratings are like.

I don't see any reason why they can't just launch it on the EPG as normal without customers having to register. Maybe the reason is psychological marketing in that Sky hope that people will believe that they are getting something for nothing and it will also draw more attention to the channel

Aye, I think that we can now safely assume that this is one of Skys tactics to try to undermine competition from BT.

Been told by a VM contact that Netflix have informed them that, by the end of 2014, 100% of their material will be subtitled. This follows pressure from the deaf community who complained that, in their case, as technology moved on, they were going backwards with the omission of subtitles.

I applaud Netflix for responding so positively, after all, why should those with hearing difficulties be denied access to their service :)

I take it as VM customers, we won't have to register our interest with VM?
Will we just get the channel automatically if we subcribe to the Sports channels already?

By pressing the red button on Sky sports 5 you can register the channel but you are also offered 2 years FREE Broadband with Sky with conditions.

I think the register part is just to get that Internet offer.

But we will know a Sky Sports 5 and Sky Sports 5 HD channel numbers on Virgin Media sooner than August 12th.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 2

The offer conditions I think make it a poor offer, some of the conditions are

New minimum term

Line rental and Sky talk must be kept for whole term

Sky sports must be kept for whole term

Disconnection charges applicable.

It is strange however SKY have form of this. When I joined SKY I had to register to be able to watch SKY 3D, even though the channel had been up and running for almost 2 years! When taking everything into consideration, SKY are actually trying to push 2 years free broadband rather than the new channel. It's a marketing exercise.
