I hope it is permanent and catches up with DVD rentals. Go to Blockbuster and you get a DVD to watch for 2 days.

I also find that my wife and I often never complete a film in a single viewing; you decide something after 9pm when the children have gone to bed, then only watch half of it and then want to watch the rest the following night after they have gone to bed again but that is more than 24 hours, problem solved now!

Without trying to change subject but relevant, I note the TiVo has an interface to Blockbuster online in the USA, hopefully this will appear in the UK version on the Tivo box to extend download capability for films.

You only get blockbuster for 1 night so about the same as virgin now. 48 hours is great.

HD price is a bit pricey

I never quite understand why anybody would want to pay Â£4.99 for a HD film rental from Filmflex. You can get a blu ray movie for Â£2.50 from LoveFilm.com or even from ITunes you get 30 days allowed before you need to watch your rental!

FilmFlex is a joint venture between Sony and The Walt Disney Company. And Virgin are just getting the same deal as Channel 4 DID for Film4OD, which officially launched on 1 November.

WWE PPV's plus other Sports is run by Sky Box Office and Primetime.

Which is why I've haven't used Filmflex in well over 2 years now. :erm:

The interesting development for me is now you can stream LoveFilm movies wirelessly to you TV. The funny thing is it is on Sony TV's wouldn't they be competing against themselves (FilmFlex)?

The free movies that you can stream from Lovefilm aren't the latest releases and are generally older films (and in SD with only stereo sound). They add to the selection regularly though and as a freebie, it's excellent; some good live concert DVDs on there.

well as a response to some people who are saying about blurays being cheaper than a rental - not everyone has a blurray player.

lets just say you watch 1 films per week on your bluray player (~Â£100)

you own around 30 bluray discs (~Â£7)

around 52 seperate veiwings a year

30x7 = Â£210

210+100 = Â£310

Â£310/52 = ~Â£5.96

If you only watch one bluray a week, it would be in this case cheaper to rent from filmflex, and you dont even have to leave your sofa.
