That just sucks, why does OFCOM have to put such time constrained in this? Now we are likely to end up with BBC1 HD and BBC2 HD. I would much rather the BBC had a best of HD channel like they currently do. And shame on Five for being the only national broadcaster without a HD channel.

Yep FIVE should be allowed to have a HD channel.

They could but looks like they simply have no desire but not even getting their act together to get onto the Freeview HD platform. Poor showing on Fives part, they could even do it on the cheap and outsource the playout to Sky, Virgin or other third party.

Virgin Media ''in talks'' for Hallmark HD.

An Insider has told me that Virgin Media are in talks with NBC Networks over their new Hallmark HD Channel that will launch in the next few months.

Would be good if BBC added another HD channel now there's a slot cause FIVE aren't launching one.

They could put those World Cup games on there that won't be on BBC HD.

I have never watched Hallmark for some reason and had a look at their schedule the the day and there was bugger all on the whole day that wasn't about 20 years old. Are they revamping the whole channel?

I can't believe S4C can launch a HD channel, but FIVE can't.

FIVE must be struggling. I know they took a lose last year.

Nice to see a bit of action from Virgin, they are getting the HD people wanted.....now we just need the program makers to actually provide the content to make this struggle for HD worthwhile.

HD news for viewers in Sotland and Ireland only.

According to rumours on the web STV and UTV are both set to launch a HD channel with advanced picture and sound quality very soon but may not be ready in time for the world cup.
