We had about 1/4 inch overnight, and it's all melted now besides a bit left on the grass.

Same in Oak Tree at moment Flange, haven't heard a bus go down yet though, there's one on every half hour on a Sunday. Hope situation improves tomorrow, i've got enough days holiday left but I could really do with taking them when I want, not when the weather dictates.

Can't get out round here because the Tories have slashed the gritting budget by 40%.

You never let facts get in the way of a rant, do you?

They are talking about reducing a future budget

The Conservatives plan to cut £50,000 from the cost of gritting in 2010/11
(so it has no effect on the roads at the moment, but hey, feel free to totally twist the facts ;)), and they are planning the same amount of gritting, just doing it in a different way - Link

Conservative cabinet member for transport, Coun Richard Jackson, said: "At the moment we use 10 millimetre salt. In future, we will keep salt stores under cover, so we can use six millimetre salt. Outdoors, some salt leaches away and six millimetre salt is a bit cheaper.

"There is no change to the roads we are going to be gritting. We will be spreading at the same rate and because the salt is almost half the size we get better coverage."

can't get around here as labour have destroyed the economy and no one can get a loan for a car, as state funded banks wont loan money to people who have lost there jobs, and been declared bankrupt .

only a light dusting of snow here in cleethorpes and the sun is shining .

I did, brrrr, slush stuff all over, it did all look nice and slightly white when I got in from work at 7am.

I would say despite what the weather man said it felt the coldest night ever at work last night.

In G45 South of Glasgow there was a good 3-4 inches of snow but once in the Centre of Glasgow it was just rain and no snow in sight. Same here in Bellshill, its just really wet.
