Now that I'm one of those more rare people waiting for a double transplant, I've also been asked to take part in three seperate research projects at Addenbrookes. - it's nice to give something back. One of them is a new method of preserving organs outside the body (pre transplant) so could be interesting.

That's something I'm all for. I had a internal tumour removed last Friday and they asked me if they could video / photograph the procedure as it fairly new to be published. Okay it was done in a fairly intimate place but felt like it would be wrong to say no if it could help others.

Glad it's over but still got tests and results to go through and post op last week has been one of the toughest weeks of my life so far.

Junior or senior doctor, any operation on my eyes would need me asleep as I cannot stand my eyes being touched.

Me too. I hate the idea of my eyes being operated on. No doubt cataracts will eventually get me but I think they'll need to put me out to fix them.

After having two ex rays and MRI scan I have been diagnosed with Coccydynia. The reason this is a happy thought is that the Doctor seems to have found the perfect gel and pain relief for me, fingers crossed it keeps working cannot believe a gel can work so well and so quickly. The medicine is called Feldene Gel (Piroxicam) it's amazing I can now drive without being in extreme discomfort. Just waiting for the Physiotherapy appointment now.

Yes, shocked my stepdad last year. He'd been with Aviva since the Norwich Union days and his car insurance was massive last year. 15 minutes searching, found him a quote that was roughly 30% cheaper than Aviva. He called to cancel, they gave him a 20% saving on the quote.

Hubby took me out for lunch today, nothing fancy just Frankie & Benny's but it was nice just the two of us. What made it so nice is we just took our time to enjoy the meal, it was also nice to be able to talk in private about hubby's work situation without little ear's listening.

Not too shabby, you managed to get round in one piece which is more than a lot of other people could manage.

I've my first half of the season on Sunday. I'm torn between taking it easy and using it as a training run for my ultra or battering it and going for a new 1/2 marathon PB.

It's a flattish course so the competitive streak in me is beginning to win...

Had a routine asthma appointment this morning, I asked at reception how to go about getting a replacement blood test form done as I lost mine. In the space of 20 minutes, had the form printed out, 3 vials of blood taken with not even evidence of where the needle went in and saw the asthma nurse.

Shows why I like going to the surgery and having the occasional delay when waiting to be called in by a doctor.

Nice! :tu:

I've stopped caring about people looking when I'm out with Osem Jnr #2. I've even given up trying to explain his behaviour although I do still apologise for it sometimes. Sadly there'll always be people who 'look and point fingers' at those who are different but thankfully they are the minority and I've come across far more people who accept him for what he is, even if they are sometimes shocked when he does something odd or embarrassing. Come to think of it, I'm sometimes shocked too but usually manage to laugh about it all later. :)

Osem Jnr #2 came into the lounge and asked me to clean his teeth last night. It was just one word but it's so nice that he's starting to initiate things rather than just waiting to be told what needs to be done. :)
