I hate Windows so much, whenever I try to change my back-ground it comes up saying about some .dll causing a fatal error and needs to close. When ever I try it again it just closes without changing the back-ground. :grind:

I wish I could install RedHat on here with XP :(

EDIT: My old desk-top (wanting to put that that on)

Re: Desktop Wallpaper

which .dll file is it causing the error?

Restarted my PC, and got the same error again. This time I took a screeny of it.

EDIT: I think I might need to do a format, for some reason the Windows shell keeps crashing, so then I have to restart a load of programs so I can see them in the task bar. Anything I could do other than a format?

Re: Desktop Wallpaper

You could try the sfc utility.

start/run then type sfc /scannow

you will need the XP CD in the drive.
It will take a while.

post back if that does not fix.

Just tried that, all it did was bring up a command prompt and dissapeared straight away.

Did you put the space between sfc and /

try again, it should put the comm prompt up then another box.

Re: Desktop Wallpaper

try running it from a cmd prompt instead. Might work. From start, select run then type cmd

It may not apply, but here is a fix for this problem on Windows 2000.

Let's have a look at peoples desktops on Windows :D

As you can see with mine, it's clean, tidy, and I like Half-Life :disturbd:
