So much negative speculation on here, isn't there? I don't understand why people can't just wait and see what comes out of the negotiations. I doubt we will hear anything for at least three weeks. But that doesn't mean it will be bad news. VM are just holding out for the best deal, which is in everyone's interests.

Less than 4 weeks until we lose Premiership, SPL, Europa Cup, domestic cup, German, Italian, French and lower league football from ESPN plus the other ESPN channels from the XL package. Don't you think we deserve to know what if anything Virgin plan to do by way of compensation for this?

Oh trust me I will laugh if virgin get a better deal than Sky for BT Sport, especially those who have jumped ship!

Known VM they'll leave it till as late as possible with the premier league not starting till August 17th its more than possible that a deal could be done as late as W/C the 12th which is another 5 1/2 weeks yet

How can Virgin media get a better deal for BT sports than is available to sky customers? Sky tv customers can get it free.

Although they didn't say in the email that the new channels where the replacements, the fact they banged on about them being at no extra charge would lead one to suspect that is it.

As a non sports fan, I can understand why people want to know now.

For some people, BT sports is essential and if VM don't get it, they will need to switch providers. And that is something that can't be done in a few days. If VM take it right up to the wire to announce whether not they are getting BT sports, it doesn't give people time to switch before the start of the games.

Spot on but it's not just that. All that ESPN provided is going, if Virgin do manage to get a deal with BT Sports we will have to pay for what ESPN previously provided. ESPN price is already subsumed into the XL price so we are out of pocket even without factoring BT's arrival/non arrival. It's like Sky Movies Comedy, Thriller and Family being taken out of the Virgin movie package and only being on Sky, you just wouldn't accept paying the same price. A huge chunk of sport is being taken away. No way should we have to pay the same price on XL come the end of this month :(

Incorrect, Sky Customers get it free if they are with BT Broadband. Virgin Customers might get it in the XL Pack and/or at a lower rate than non BT Broadband subscribers with Sky, possible a delay being that Virgin open up a system whereby BT Broadband customers can activate free BT Sports for free.

This system was already in place with Sky, however isn't with Virgin Media so technical hurdles have to be overcome.

You will find out, its a very likely chance that a deal will have been done already, but BT have embargoed it to the very last minute to scoop up subscribers (like yourselves) who rush to other platforms to get it because they fear they wont be able to watch it.

If Virgin were not getting it and knew by now they weren't they would say rather than keep banging on about it with the sign up for info news.

The fact they have a sign up page is promising...

Erm neither of us has gone to Sky, Yet

I have been told by a Sky customer, that Sky have advised him (when he could them to ask about the price).

It will be £12.00 per month and that BT Sports, will NOT be on VM, unless a price is agreed, and it could cost more for VM customers. This is why there is a delay.

BT Sports wants a separate charge, where the fee is paid direct to BT and not VM.

He doesn't have a problem as he has gone in for the channels.

Not Sky, more BT Vision, but still, if they dont announce it in the next few weeks you will seriously consider Sky or BT Vision, so its worked.

Someone who doesn't work at either BT or Virgin is obviously going to have insider knowledge on their business meetings...

My mate had nothing to lose by asking, but l have a strange feeling, that by KO in August, l will be with someone else. As VM must know what is happening and are teasing their customers.

As l have said before, VM should keep their customers better informed. And thats what they are RUBBISH at. PR is extremely poor. Quick enough if you havent paid your bill - like my son, two days over due date and they called him.

Bloody hell Arthur how many times do you mention this. They have nothing to inform you about so what can they say other than they are in negotiations with them. BT will drag it out as long as they can to try and grab as many customers as possible before they will do a deal, which makes sense from a business perspective.

Not worth leaving it to chance on maybe's, possibles or could be's. Might as well switch provider and relax knowing you will have the games, rather than stressing and maybe not even getting it in the end.
