I have to say Clegg is doing well, Its a shame he is in charge of a party i will never vote for because i cannot agree with there tree hugger policies. Brown has lost this debate completely and i hope the election . Its such a same Clegg is a liberal democrat or he would have changed my vote because of his performance.

Yes, but his point about getting rid of our nuclear deterrant are a bit disturbing though.

That is one of the reasons i cannot trust them to defend this countries defences

A brief interlude for a spot of tittle-tattle and knockabout nonsense. Here's a photo of Gordon Brown's next-door neighbour back home in Fife, with the latest addition to his front garden:

Not to convert you but I still wonder why you worry about their status on the Army because they want to increase their pay to public sector levels, spend trident money on conventional forces, and they wouldn't have sent people to Iraq.

Anyway I agree Brown has lost this debate. He just doesn't get involved.

He hasn't said it needs getting rid of, he's suggesting a rethink of Trident. I would hope he'd be open to alternatives as we do absolutely need to retain an independent nuclear deterrent given the ongoing uncertainty in the world.

Biggest round of applause for Alastair Stewart I reckon. He's run a tight, but fair ship tonight, and under immense pressure as well.

Agreed, a very well run show in my opinion.

Question Time should take note imo.

I don't have a problem with there pay increase, However what use is an army against nuclear weapons if your army does not have them to defend yourself with should you be attacked by those that have them.

Clegg will get rid of them and possibly leave us open to attack from those that are striving to own these weapons. The problem with the Libs is that they would role over rather than defend and removing our Nuclear deterrent shows there true colours

Indeed. I find Dimbleby far too keen to get involved...

I agree with those who have pointed out Clegg's skill at engagement - he's summing up now and still referring to the questioners by name.

Fair point, maybe I mis heard / understood. We certainly need to keep some sort of deterrant in my opinion. We are still alledgedly a superpower and need this imo to back that status up.

Otherwise we will get walked over and become the true doormat as some see we already are.
