Perhaps he didn't want to be part of the embarrassment when England play? ;)

Dawson is an excellent replacement and in much better form than Rio.

Let's hope if there are any more injuries its before thursday. After that it will be too late to call replacements won't it?

He is suposedly, he played the 90 minutes against Mexico then was left out against Japan to recover as Capello had already decided he was going, is what i read. I reckon Capello will play Upson alongside Terry, i must say i'd rather it be King if he's fit though.

I think you can call up a replacement for an injured* player up to 24 hours before the teams first match. So that would be Friday.

Rather than a striker who is listed as a goalie :)

just hope for england that there arent anymore injuries but would send heskey home as well

I thought its 24 hours before the tournament starts as some teams start their campaign later than others.
