Re: Formula 1 2008 Season
I bet within coming weeks the rule makers, judges and such will take receipt of brand new Ferrari's.
FIA might as well give the drivers constructors titles to Ferrari as there will be some excuse to penalise McLaren and rob them. |
Re: Formula 1 2008 Season
I thought that was shocking today. A complete disgrace.

Re: Formula 1 2008 Season
I think I'm going to watch the replay, later, before coming to any final decisions about todays race.
So far, having got up early this morning to watch it live I am of the opinion that - Hamilton did force Raikkonen wide at the start but, apparently, flat spotted his tyres down to the canvas & would have had to pit for new tyres whether Massa biffed him later, or not - no overall advantage gained, no need for a penalty. - Massa lost control & biffed Hamilton off on the next lap - penalty justified. - Bourdais did nothing more than hold his line coming out of the pits, which he was entitled to do as it was for position - penalty not justified. Hamilton behaved like a rookie, in my opinion, but the drive through probably made little difference to his ultimate race position - however the extra point Massa gained from the stewards decision regarding the Bourdais incident was unjustified, I thought, & it is no wonder people are talking about a Ferrari bias. I wonder if I'll think differently after the replays? <edit> Ok I watched the Bourdais/ Massa 'incident' again & in my opinion Massa misjudged the manoeuvre & all Bourdais did was hold his line - I fail to see how it could be judged against Bourdais, so the penalty awarded against him was not justified. The fact the decision gained Massa a championship point makes it even more questionable ? I've had enough of this sorry excuse for a 'sport' & won't be watching, any more ... |
Re: Formula 1 2008 Season
My opinion. A good race but sickening politicisation of the sport.
The start my opinion is all 3 were to blame. Kimi squeezed Hamilton and if you look at his line and speed and ignore him not locking up I don't think Kimi would have made the corner and is just pointing the finger at hamilton. Kovalainen actually blocked Kimi which was just as bad as whatever Hamilton was supposed to have done. Interestingly Massa seemed to see it coming a mile off and took a completely different line through the corner to the other 3. In anycase even if Hamilton was to blame I'm against these silly petty engineering of results by the stewards. People got the start wrong. So what? It meant we had a fight between Alonso, Kubica, etc. That's life. Massa and Hamilton. I wouldn't ordinarily advocate penalising someone, however as ferrari have made the most dubious of political appeals on chicanes I think as he didn't bother to take the corner and didn't yield any places to anybody Massa should have got not a drive throught but a stop and go. For taking Hamilton down he gets DSQed. If it be proved ala 1994 and 1997, bye bye Massa, you're written out of history. Massa and Bourdais, could see this fake outrage coming a mile off. Bourdais did nothing wrong. Just political meddling. Massa had various dodgy moves and tried to claw the places back. On the day he just wasn't fast enough. Why ferrari worry that much I don't know. It's traditional for McLaren to mess up near the end of the season so why the need for all the blatent cheating from Massa and his cronies I don't know. |
Re: Formula 1 2008 Season
The robbed Massa with one hand & gave with the other

In anycase like I said for the fooling around on the grass and not yielding he should have been given the extra 10 seconds. I think he should have been DSQed for blatent championship cheating. |

This makes interesting reading......... Lewis has only himself to blame for Sundays outcome, he could afford to let KR get in front from the start. I still think max moseley has something to do with the stewards decisions. |
Re: Formula 1 2008 Season
cant wait for tomorrow's instalment of how can the FIA help Ferrari:(

Just got up, kettles on, TV's on.. Let's hope that Lewis can put all this behind him, perhaps take Massa off the track*, get 10 points for himself and wrap up the championship :)
*not one to wish bad on someone but Massa needs taking down a peg or two |

Re: Formula 1 2008 Season
Just seen the compilation stewarding decisions. I really can't see how they explain the inconsistencies.

Re: Formula 1 2008 Season
Personally I'd like to see all the teams tell the FIA to go take a run and jump and then form thier own championship with current and ex-drivers in control

Re: Formula 1 2008 Season
Hamilton's won!
But.........what are the stewards going to do, give Hamiton a penalty therefore promoting Masa to 1st, or just find a reason to disqualify Hamilton. |
