Re: [Merged] ITV3-coming to ntl??
OK, I seem to have started a bit of a reaction here so let's clear it up before it degenerates into something else.
I have anologue, due to the fact 2 STB's on analogue are cheaper than 2 Digital STB's and it was what my father budgeted for when considering all the other bills he had to pay. Granada Plus is no more as stated, and ITV3 is the 'new Plus' as it were with all the programming that used to be on the Plus channel. I accept analogue is a limited service and digital is the 'daddy', it's just disappointing that NTL can't negotiate a deal for their still loyal analogue customers in light of ITV3, loyalty is still a key factor for NTL isn't it irrespective if they are analogue or digital customers? If NTL's hands are tied then it's obviously not NTL's fault, and if it's not technically possible to give ITV3 to analogue customers then I hold my hands up and leave it at that, but as a paying customer I'm at least entitled to voice my concerns for the analogue customer. |

Then they offered me my OLD Analouge TV back & a huge discount. :D NEVER will I return to NTL Digital.. (Freeview or Sky here I come if NTL stop Analouge) With Analouge TV (NTL) you can Record 1 Channel 7 watch another (all for £3.50 PCM) so for me to get that Service on NTL it would cost 2x £10 Digital TV... :dunce: |
Re: [Merged] ITV3-coming to ntl??
I cant understand why they have stopped the Plus channel. Proper ********s who wanted ****in ITV3 anyway???? At least Plus had some decent stuff on.

Re: [Merged] ITV3-coming to ntl??
My dad likes all the old stuff that was on G+ and was well gutted when it got dropped. He isn't too impressed with itv3, although personally its nice to see the re-runs of la law.

Re: [Merged] ITV3.
So to get ITV3 on digital is going to cost me extra!
I pay £37.50 for analogue, that includes 1 extra STB @ £7, £13.50 for the Family Pack and £17 for the Sports Pack. Compared to digital, it would cost us £33 for the Family Pack and Sports, and and an extra £15 for another STB, total of £48. Sky digital would cost £43 for their Family Pack, Sports and Multiroom. Oh, and we HAVE to have NTL's phone service if we want digital so that's another £9.50 if you don't already have a phone (I do have an NTL phoneline fortunately). Sky don't specifically mention you HAVE to have a phone, they only state you need to plug the box into a land based phone line to receive the interactive bits, so If I don't have a phone I don't get the interactive? no great loss there then! So NTL digital is going to cost me £10.50 more per month and Sky digital £5.50, guess which one we are now considering! The only drawback is Sky only warrant the box for 1 year (NTL rent you the box) and optionally want you to pay an extra £69 per year per box for an extended warranty  Sky seems a better option as I keep hearing about poor NTL digital picture, freezes and pixelation from friends and this forum, but no one I know who has Sky has had problems. Please don't jump down my throat if I've got something wrong or mis-quoted anything, I compared NTL and Sky and that's more or less how I understand it. All this just to highlight what an anolgue customer (me) must pay to get ITV3!! :) (barring Freeview). |
Re: [Merged] ITV3.
the only draw back with sky multiroom is that you all have to watch the same channel AFAIK :)

Re: [Merged] ITV3.
"Sky Multiroom lets you watch different Sky channels in different rooms at the same time. You simply need a Multiroom subscription and an extra Sky box or a Sky+ box, to enjoy the same choice of channels on another TV"
