I agree re suarez, if we got him..fine can do nothing, but would prefer not to have him

i think wenger doesn't want to raise hopes...mainly as players and agents seem to want to play games

Indonesian All Stars 0-7 Arsenal. Wenger in. We don't need to sign anyone.

On a more serious note there are some exciting players coming through but please God let it not be another cycle of waiting for them while seniors get fed up and leave!

But theres good news at last as they have agreed a fee for Ezequiel Garay for £17.2m.

Out of that list theres one player we have bid for and another we have had strong interest in but haven't bid for. I don't see how we have "missed out on every one of them". Plus the fact the window is still open so deals can still be done, I don't know how you came to the conclusion they have "missed out".

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window

I could see this happening. The lure of RVP is certainly going to help and I think Moyes feels a need to make a flagship signing as a statement of intent. United have a massive hole in midfield and Fabregas would make the position his own. Trophies haven't been fast and flowing for him at Barca so maybe with the right offer he would be tempted.

Sky sports say that in his contract there is a clause that Arsenal have first refusal on him if he leaves Barca. The clause is for Arsenal to pay £25m and so the full Man Utd bid will be £35

Arsenal right now could sign Fellaini (23m), Fabregas (25m) and Higuain (25m) for 73 odd million. thats an absolute bargain.

I think you'll find £25m for Fab is small in todays market. It was reported when this all kicked off a month or so ago that any other club would have to trigger his release clause of 200 odd m euros

even that as a comparison is small!

We'll only get two of the four I think. If we got Fabregas I don't see us going for Fellaini even if they play different positions. More likely it would free up Arteta and Wilshere to play as defensive midfielders.

Fellaini I see happening if we paid the money. Why not? He has a release clause and we'll offer Champions League football and higher wages, no one else seems to be in for him. Suarez is difficult as Liverpool won't want to sell and £40 million is a bit much, if that is actually his release clause - no one has confirmed that.

I hope thats not true. Arteta is ageing and Jack isnt a DM. There was talk of Wenger wanting to turn Rambo into a DM although evidence of that is nowhere to be seen and reality goes against that with Wenger pushing Ramsey to attack or play in a free role. We don't have a DM and Wenger must know we need one. Frimpong has lost his way.

Well Wenger knows more about football than me so he is free to ignore my wise advice. Still my point is don't expect three mega signings, two would make me happy, I suspect we'll get one.

Wise would be signing the 3 players stated ;) One point to be kept in mind though is Fab made a lot of players look good, ultimately Arsenal did but on the field Fabregas did. Players who moved on and flopped. We have a couple average players in our actual squad that need to be made good. I reckon theres a real chance to sign all 3. I don't believe Wengers being a troll with his 1 or 2 signings comment. I do however believe if a player was to leave he would then say we may need an extra player. Gervinho out :)

Liverpool Managing Director Ian Ayre on Suarez

“I don’t think anyone will be against him at this point, He only needs to do what he did last season and everyone will feel he’s in the right place and he should carry on getting the support that he deserves and gets from Liverpool, We’d love to see Luis put on a Liverpool shirt for this season and beyond and we hope that once he gets back things will settle down. This is an ambitious young player, he’s talked in the media about wanting to play in the Champions League and all these things, It’s our job to convince Luis that this is the right place to achieve those things.”

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-0...kes-offer.html
those quotes are from the actual source, others are saying he said...

Quote:

full Ayre quotes on Suarez:

I've heard him say it would great to have an opportunity to play for Arsenal and likewise Rel Madrid. But He certainly hasn’t called me up and said he wants to leave.

We had an offer which is fairly public from Arsenal. We said no to that offer, and as far as we’re concerned he turns iup for training when he's due back. And we'll move foirard on that basis. .

We get offers for lots of our players at different times. Unless we get to a siutaution where that player absolutely doesn't want to be here and we don’t want him to be here then that's a different kettle of fish. Right now we'd love to see Luis put on a Liverpool shirt for this season and beyond and we hope that once he gets back things will settle down.

Giaccherini move completed

Published: 16 July, 2013
by Stuart Vose

Italian international signs up.

Sunderland have completed the signing of midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini from European giants Juventus.

The 28-year-old Italian international has signed a four-year deal at the Stadium of Light.

Giaccherini joins Paolo Di Canio’s Sunderland having enjoyed significant success during his time with Juventus.

He won the Italian Serie A title twice whilst with the club, first in 2011-12 and then again last season.

The attack-minded midfielder, who can play in the middle or out wide, has been capped 14 times for his country and featured twice at Euro 2012 as the Italians finished as runners-up.

He also featured for the Azzurri in the recent Confederations Cup tournament in Brazil.

Giaccherini began his career with Cesena and had loan spells with Forli, Bellaria Igea and Pavia.

He moved to Juventus in August 2011 and made 40 league appearances for the club, scoring four goals before making the move to Wearside.

I'm a little worried now. a fair few people said many clubs (not Arsenal) were not making movements because of this deal, Chelsea, Real etc. were after Cavani but now this is done will we see Chelsea, Real etc. go after the players Arsenal are linked with. From the noises you would think its Higuain to Arsenal, Rooney to Chelsea and Suarez to Real Madrid.

Maybe it was but also a test of United's intentions. They've reiterated that he's not for sale but if they'd replied saying the amount is derisory then that would have suggested they'd sell him for the right price.

Exactly and with the £25 million plus they get then they can spend it on a replacement for Scholes.

That's the signing Rodgers wanted all along and so did I, looked like he was going to Dortmund but they signed the Armenian Liverpool wanted and left the way clear, he has a really sensible head on those young shoulders and is a lesson to other young players that think their the mutts nuts

I'm still a big fan of Gourcuff but theres too much drama in this if you think about it. Gourcuff isnt drama even if people say hes a reclause, doesnt mingle etc. that for me isnt a problem. Blanc got qaulity out of him because there was a connection. Wenger too is a manager who sees the strayed and builds a relationship for the better. what is a worry is the injury concerns. the drama is Lyon. Arsenal wanted him but Lyon wanted mega bucks even though the club was clearly out of their depths dealing with him which went to the lengths of them having to make huge cuts to balance the books yet they still keep an unhappy player on 100k. they paid 20odd m for him and wanted to recoup a lot of that ha! I dont think Arsenal will deal with Lyon now. Grenier who signed a new contract at Lyon would have been the swap player.

if it was my choice id sign Gourcuff plus 3 other players as it stands that is but thats unlikely to happen with Wenger 1 or 2 crap! Gervinho leaving would be great, its becoming increasing likely he'll be off to Roma though.

The Cisse situation is awful now, He's asked for a better contract at the same time as refusing to wear the shirt, you can bet your life he's using the latter to his advantage. Basically Cisse is refusing to play in the new shirt but may re-consider should he get paid more. Brilliant.

Interest from Anzhi in Russia, they'd happily pay an inflated £20+ million free, see you later Cisse.

Loic Remy and Bent will likely come in for about £13 million total. I'm not going to complain if this comes to light. We also need to remember we have very good academy players coming through, Haris Vuckic was not so long ago touted as the next breakthrough striker and he looked like making the first team last year had he not got injured for the season. The lad has a vicious left foot from what I and the opponents crossbars usually see, work on his accuracy and you might have something, unfortunately there's rumours we're merely holding onto him for a big Italian side. Adam Campbell looks promising too.

"Fábregas has decided to stay one more year at Barcelona," Wenger said, after Arsenal's 7-1 win over a Vietnam XI in Hanoi. Quote:

"It happened to us, It can happen to them. We have not the problem of the wages of Wayne Rooney but it's very difficult for us to talk about any specific case. We work well but we are not close to sign anybody. The competition in Europe is very hard at the moment. There's a lot of money and not many players."

Yup. RM have a nerve to ask nearly 40odd m for a player who they have hardly treated well, a player who is unsettled, a player who wants out for regular football.

If Ornstein is right about Arsenal wanting players in 3 positions then they are all looking to go to the final day. DM, AM and CF. Everyone Arsenal are linked with, the quality that is will cost amounts that will smash the clubs transfer record.

This dates back to the days when Dein was at Arsenal too so me now saying bring back Dein means little. Remember Ribery being allowed to leave Arsenal even though everything was there to be signed, completed. Whos at fault?

Can't you see Arsenal allowing the release clause to be run down so they can start offering 10m +50pence clauses at the end causing all kinds of drama.

the Higuain figures are doing my heading, first it was Perez saying no one should come without a 30m euros offer then it was Arsenal wanting to pay between 25-30m euros then theres no bid and now its 38m lol
