Battlefield 4 is generally the same as 3 but it's multilayer is still far superior to Ghosts.

It's a shame both games are plagued by the two biggest DLC whoring publishers in the industry however.

Either way it was meant deliberately. You can't accidently do it. Homage or not when you've paid for a product you don't expect to find an identical ending scene to a previous game. It's either laziness or an idea that's backfired.

Regardless 3arc will have a better shot at call of duty next year. The consoles will have been out a while and they've got a whole year to play with it. Just write Ghosts off as the crap you'd come to expect from the MW3 development team.

No Suzuka on Forza 5, no green hell, practically half the tracks and half the cars of Forza 4. Not surprisingly it looks like MS have forced Turn10 to shove it out the door before it was really ready.

But if you pay the price of the game again you can have the season pass and get an extra 60 cars (I wonder how many of them are day1 dlc).

No thanks, not anymore.

Day one DLC. Way to join the EA club Microsoft.

I've said it a hundred times already. Awful campaign, awful marketing, poorly designed console. This whole next gen hype is nothing but a massive con. They've had years to perfect this and they've delivered consoles and games that have been made in half an hour.

Steam box. That is all.

Owner of a PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox and Xbox 360. I've never felt so let down after being hyped up for so many years.

Money is all that matters now. Bog standard gear in boxes sold for premium prices with additional subscriptions and a market full of DLC.

---------- Post added at 22:19 ---------- Previous post was at 20:44 ----------

I failed to add. Isn't Forza free somewhere? so that would soften the blow.

Can't really complain that much if people receive it free. I'm still disappointed they're heading for the EA style of having DLC finished before the games release and not including it with the product. It's sly and daylight robbery. This model scares me. Even more so now there's no excuse for them not to fit content onto Blu ray discs. I could see them attempting to double the price.

So you think it's pants but the majority of your posts first of all criticise the machine and then you backtrack and say something positive , wouldn't want to look too much of a troll eh ;)

No, they call that arguing for or against something otherwise it'd just be a typical bias rant without me having checked anything.

E.G Forza is somewhat less of a game than Forza 4 was.
But they have Blu Ray discs with huge opportunities to capitalize on in the future.

Your not arguing for or against something , you have just admitted you think the xbox one is pants , so why bother even looking in the thread ? , the odd comment in a thread where you thought the product talked about was 'pants' could be acceptable but you have frequented it over a long period of time, typical troll behaviour ;) , quoting yourself is another ;)

Opinion. If the thread was titled Xbox one praise only then you'd be justified in your point. You usually have to quote yourself when someone takes the typical internet mentality of missing everything in front of them. Instead you just continually post ''Why look in an Xbox one thread''
Because it's named Xbox one thread.... I mean it couldn't get any simpler than that.

If you dislike criticism for the Xbox one then
Quote:

Answer again: Because it's titled Xbox One thread, It's a general thread for anyone's opinion positive or negative. Instead of getting up in arms about it, there's an ignore feature, use it instead of resorting to calling people trolls because they share different opinions to yourself.

So you see a thread titled "xbox one thread" you think , ooooooh , the xbox one is pants , I know what I'll do , it's obvious that everyone in that thread is "interested" in the xbox one , I'm not I think its "pants" , but just for the hell of it I'll go and tell them all ;) ..... I'll always be more Xbox than PS. Controller is just better. Online and so on. It's a non argument. I'm done for when they announce a new gears game. I'll have no choice but to buy an Xbox one. Same applies to any rockstar game.

You can get things to put on top of the sticks. Commonly used on the scuf controllers. They'd rectify sticks that are too small. Although we could see a controller update, remember the original xbox, the controller was huge and annoying and was then replaced by a much better smaller controller.

Haha good times with this monstrosity http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/...0509-xbox_.gif

replaced with the much better : http://www.deafgamers.com/oldreviews...troller_s1.jpg

A few people from Target have got their console early, someone was able to use it and download the Day one patch which he revealed was a 500mb download.

I also read somewhere else that the X1 is a door stop until you have downloaded the patch, so i hope my internet doesnt go down on delivery day! lol

Apparently 1 of these users has had his console banned by MS which is very bad PR by MS if you ask me as it wasn't his fault the console he purchased got sent to him early.

Erm I assume you mean 50-500mb... (fixed now) I seen 500gb and nearly cried.

After all the drama over online requirement it seems a bit daft again to require a connection to make the console work.

I was one of those rare few that actually liked the always online idea though. I still could swerve and get one last minute but the lack of games would be a downside. I've got stuff like BF4 on the PC. Same with FIFA but that's without the ignite engine. Could get Forza and Fifa but seems like that's the only choices I have. Finding somewhere to put it is another problem. Wouldn't be an issue if it stood up like the 360. Don't have room on the desk for it lying down -_-

It's EA you know what they're like regarding stuff that's actually new. I'm guessing they've merely implemented a new engine without changing textures or anything else. Probably won't mean much to anyone as they'll already have bought fifa for other platforms like myself.

I really wish they could put prices up this week, if the prices are cheaper or the same i will get the digital downloads and cancel my disk pre orders but i fear we won't know until after release.

Whatever happens though the 500GB HDD is going to fill up extremely quickly!

Will it not only fill up, if you play all games at once?

I would have thought you prioritise the game(s0 you are playing now, and re-download other games when you want to play again

Re: The Xbox One Thread

At 40-50GB a game install it will fill up quickly depending on how many games we want to play and you can't install a bigger HDD, that has to be an external drive which currently is not supported although MS say they will in the future unlike the PS4.

PS4 has the ability to switch out internal drives though. That's a much better option all round rather than allowing external drives. The external features on the 360 are the root cause of cheating and hacking. The same will apply to the Xbox one should they allow it. There's no way to protect against system mods and hackers though. Every time Microsoft fills a hole, the modding community digs another. This is the part I'd describe the simple fix but there just isn't one that's viable.

Forcing every single game save to be on the cloud rather than your HDD or external could work. Wouldn't stop the high end JTAG users but they're massively limited when compared to kids using flash drives to cheat.

SnoopZ 09-11-2013 11:56

Re: The Xbox One Thread

Yes i agree being able to swap out the internal is a better option although with external we maybe able to take an external around friends houses.

Shouldn't be an issue if they can reimplement the sharing features. Another viable option is the cloud option. All saves are saved to the cloud and automatically download to HDD when you sign in on a different console. There's endless possibilities here but I'd rather see a return of the sharing options.

Could make a train of Xbox ones. Hooking them up to tv's on the way

Here are the dimensions of the Xbox One and Kinect for anyone that needs it to see if things fit under the TV, luckily i have a few millimetres of room to place it all next to the V+ on the shelf under the TV.

Console (LxWxH):

13.1" x 10.8" x 3.1"

33.3cm x 27.4cm x 7.9cm

Kinect 2 (LxWxH):

9.8" x 2.6" x 2.63"

24.9cm x 6.6cm x 6.7cm

Need for Speed Rivals comparison video with PS4, looks the same to me. The game will be running at 1080p and 30 FPS on both consoles, although this isn't confirmed whether it is native or upscaled after reading further. :)

That's because developers aren't going to take time to make one consoles version better than the other. There's no point in it. Miniscule differences would be achieved at best. Exclusives will be the real comparison line for visuals but even then apart from resolutions there's hardly basis to call the PS4 some kind of superpower compared to an Xbox.

Examples being. I think Forza 4 looked better than GT5

I would like to see Kinect used more in the future for head movements like it has been implemented in the Battlefield 4 Xbox One version, hopefully not with neck ache. lol

Re: The Xbox One Thread

I don't think Kinect will ever take off properly. It's been pushed since release but there just isn't that much interest and I tend to agree with the slow reaction. I much prefer to keep it with the controller. People can enjoy their dancing or w.e games but controlling my lean or head in BF just isn't a big deal to me. Could probably be done quicker on the controller.

If they're gonna push it they should use slow paced games as seen with Trackir and Flight sim.

If Microsoft had any sense they'd leave Kinect where it is or bin it and then focus their entire attention on bringing oculus rift to the X1

Oculus rift and BF or COD.

In fact G25/27 support too. Simple support for these things could turn heads. I know Xbox and Madcatz are developing a racing wheel but what if it's as crap as the last one. G25/27 are arguably the two most popular wheels in existence and proper support to use them on Forza could be huge. They were supported on the PS3 so it can't be that hard.

Oculus Rift and G25/27 whilst playing Forza... Microsoft need to employ gamers!

Whilst I'm here thinking innovation on Microsofts behalf let's continue.

The ability to use a mouse and keyboard on the Xbox one. If people don't have the cash for PC's then bring the pc to them. Bring World of Warcraft to the Xbox one. They've already dealt with Blizzard before and this isn't impossible. It would bring more subs to a dying game and open up the Xbox to a true subscription based mmo.

If they want to use Kinect so much. Bring Flight Simulator X to Xbox one. Utilise Kinect for head tracking whilst having the simplicity of controlling your plane with a controller. Or of course with your new keyboard connectivity map keys how you see fit. Charge a tenner for this game on the market place and make money from a dead franchise.

Let's move on from the typically accepted 64 player limit for battlefield games etc. Let's see more 200+ player online war games. All out carnage.

That's all I have for now but I'm sure there's plenty of things that could change console gaming for the good.

Gigantic ArmA Sized maps littered with Vehicles and 200+ players. Plays like Battlefield.
Battleships. Subs. Airport bases full of fighter jets and bombers. Nuclear missiles as rewards and game changers. Decimate a fleet of ships or an airport with a nuclear attack.

General game mode is domination similar to call of duty. One team must dominate 3/4 of the map to win. Battles could last hours or even days. Drop in and drop out and rank up in session.

Total War!

You could push 1000 players and that would limit the need of having too many servers. Servers are dedicated and based on the popularity of the game there'll only ever be two empty servers on the list. Matchmaking will place people in an already existing server that's filling up rather than scattering people about into empty ones.

Copyrighted to Cable Forum! Sneaky EA big wigs probably lurking about :D

Me too, for 3 reasons: -

1. You would have been able to install games to the hard drive from a disc, but you wouldn't have to put the disc in to play the game. Even though they were going to limit where you could sell disc-based games, you could still sell them and trade them in.

2. Instant game switching. You can't do that if you have to get up and swap a disc.

3. The family sharing thing, which they scrapped.

I didn't really understand some of the whining to be honest. Tons of people use Steam, where you can't sell or trade in games and you don't really own them and now Steam is going to be implementing the same family sharing idea that MS would have had on the Xbox One, had they not backtracked on it.

A lot of the people whining about having to be online once a day for the console to phone home for licensing purposes seemed to be able to get online every day to moan on and on about it too, haha.

Exactly these 3 reasons. Surely there's a way to enable it for one and disable it for another. Checklist in settings etc. Enabling all three settings on the basis you meet the 24hr check.

I also loved the DRM stuff. It was the next gen vision. From my understanding Family Sharing will be coming soon but IMO bot for at least 6 months once MS have found a way to do it.

It just has minor niggles still, it's an updated BF3 but with more dynamic destruction and a lot of fun. (Played on PC where it crashes all the time)
Gameplay is just the same as consoles.

Try not to compare what you see on the 360 to what we get on the X1 as it can be very different, i make my judgements watching the HD videos of games and comparing from IGN and Eurogamer, and the Xbox youtube channel etc, that is why i say COD ghosts is crap as it got panned in the reviews compared to earlier versions, and the videos look nothing special compared to BF4 on X1 and PS4. :)

People are getting Ghost's PC mixed up with the consoles, it got positive reviews on the consoles but was slammed on the PC. averaging 7/10 on consoles over 1/10 on PC.

Compare BF4 on PC at a normal res to Xbox one, you'll be alright then. Apart from bugs it looks and plays fine.

Well i nearly had a scare for launch day. Despite me changing my address online with Game (recently moved house) and my account not showing any trace of my old address that i could see, they were going to ship to my old address.

I had to use the webchat to sort it out. All they kept telling me to start of with was how to change my address. I did this as per the instructions and guess what even after doing that the shipping address would still default back to my old address. After a few mins the agent changed it for me and got rid of the old address form my account. I ave been online many times since to check the adress and now showing as my new address, finally,

I will be going back onto webchat tomorrow to make sure its still for my new address. I have even got a copy of the transcript incase things go wrong so i can have a massive go at them if things do go wrong. Why they cant just have a call centre like most places i never know.

The only problem with that is the HDD is so small you will likely only get around 12 games on it at average 40-50gb install then you need room for demos.

External drives won't be supported at launch and you can't replace the internal HDD.

Just to confirm what I'd earlier assumed.

FIFA 14 on current gen and FIFA 14 on Next-Gen have no visual differences, only gameplay (Ignite Engine is exclusive to NG consoles)

So rather than people throwing fits on release day, there it is. Why they haven't taken the opportunity to up the textures is anyone's guess. Madden is also in the same boat.

EA Sports in a nutshell though, they wont be budging anytime soon. Activision didn't do it with COD and that was a current and NG release. Anyone's guess.
