The Times is reporting that we're after more loan deals for Chelsea rejects. Wenger talking about various defensive midfield prospects all summer but the deals never moved and now we're shopping around for another desperate loan deal. If anyone wasn't convinced that the problem is with the board at Arsenal this must surely be it. We're depending far too much on loan deals. It's a Champions League club for crying out loud.

And even though l am not a Arsenal supporter there have been ominous signs in the last couple of years and one wonders how much more supporters and Wenger himself can take and soon he might just say l have had enough of all this and quit.

It seems a lot of clubs are scaling back their transfer fees (other than City and Chelsea of course). I wonder if that was a blip or if this is the reality from now on and FFP is starting to work?

thenry 01-09-2012 23:24

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

FFP is making clubs think twice and has meant cut backs meaning lack of activity and more inhouse restruture being done. Activity will pick up once clubs have sorted themselves out though. That said I'm not entirely sure whether the inflation seen now will be lowered. Club sponsorship, league and ever growing interest will pump more money in.

The weak link in our midfield is a captain who gives the ball away and who is past it.

Yes, he does seem to have lost his dominant force. If you struggle to beat Hearts, you will struggle in english premier league (new saying of mine :))
You can't keep hoping to play Man city at it's worse every week, if only as it is cheating :D

Two poor full backs , a midfielder who is past it and a forward line where Sterling is the best player.

Whatever happens in this game (because I am not taking anything for granted until that whistle is blown) I think Rogers will stay. Liverpool's owners didn't go though all the hassle of getting a young manager, all that process, only to fire him after a few months.

I also think that Rogers is paying for the mistakes of Kenny Dalglish in that he simply doesn't have the resources to get all the players he wants or needs. He wanted Dempsey from the money wasn't there, they try to sell on some of Dalglish's signings but they aren't worth nearly what he paid for them. This is hamstrung Rogers who has to make the best of what he has and, at the moment, that is a hard task.

Liverpool have simply spent too much money trying to catch up fast with the Champions League teams and now Rodgers is tasked to do so without that money. Liverpool knew this when Rodgers came in, they may have to play the long game....

Great performance. This just proves to Wenger Gervinho isnt good enough and needs to be benched until further notice. Ox and Podolski gave that balance of working the flanks but the play through the middle was brilliant. Diaby please stay fit. I can't wait until Giroud gets into it. Another clean sheet.. lovely day.

Two thoughts, Man utd need to do something, not sure they can afford to give Man City a lead.

And Liverpool, they might find bottom hard to leave

Maybe Man utd will have same problem as Arsenal..over reliance on van persie.

There are times when the ball shouldn't go automatically to van persie, but does

RVP has played 3 games and scored 4 goals and gets his 1st Man Utd hat trick in his 3rd game. Well done RVP. Oh and he gets his 100th league goal

Indeed. I really did think it was over before it was 2-2. What a finish to the game

We were the better team but beaten by one player in form.

Can't believe the drug cheat never even got a booking for some of his tackles.
