I'm not I truthfully hope you get more HD , red button , sky anytime OD gives me a serious decision then when my contracts up , by then all the TIVO updates will also be in so could be happy times and good deals to be had. I never had any major gripes with VM TV only range of HD content.

News Update:

I have ask one of my insiders about the rumoured Premier Sports launch date (Weds?) and on any news about Phase 2 of the Sky Sports Red Button launch.

And I got the following back:

Quote:

Don't know anything about Premier sports... Sky Sports red button should be fully available (As Far As I Know) for Saturday.

While it may not look anything like a website, what we are unveiling today - initially on the PS3 games console - is built using the same technology: HTML and Javascript. The increasing use of standards for playing media, such as HTML5 and CE-HTML (both elements of the the Dbook7 standard for hybrid TV devices in the UK) is making it easier for us to roll this out more widely. So, expect to see it come to other devices in the coming months. We’re also building a variant that will work on new TV devices that are integrating the latest technology from Adobe: Flash 10.x and Air 2.x.
Looks like me may get a version of it.

Maybe?

Quote:

BBC iPlayer is now available on more than 300 different connected TV devices, and this new version – launching initially on Sony's PlayStation 3 – will be coming to many more TV screens in the coming months as BBC iPlayer evolves beyond catch-up into a complete connected TV experience.

Daniel Danker, BBC's General Manager, Programmes & On Demand, said: "BBC iPlayer has been tremendously successful. With today's announcement, we’re transforming iPlayer in its most natural home: right on the living room TV. By creating a product that’s as simple and intuitive as flicking through TV channels, the BBC is bringing on demand television to mainstream audiences across the UK.

"Last week, Ofcom reported that 10% of TV sets sold in the UK are internet ready. But BBC iPlayer is already available on over 300 connected TVs and blu-ray disc players, which has resulted in a five fold growth of iPlayer on TV over the last six months alone. At this rate of growth, in the next few years we could well see over half of iPlayer use directly on the living room TV."

Notes to Editors
The BBC uses the term "connected TV" to define any device that can deliver programmes over the internet to the living room TV, including:

IPTV (Pay-TV) platforms (eg Virgin Media, BT Vision, Sky)
Games Consoles (e.g. Nintendo Wii, PlayStation3, XBOX)
Freeview HD, YouView, Freesat HD set-top boxes
"Smart" internet-ready TVs (eg Samsung, Sony, Panasonic)
Other connected devices (eg Boxee, blu-ray disc players)

Also Virgin Media have released a press release today and have said that they will be targeting existing customers.
For the TV side of things, they will be bigging up that they include ESPN at no extra cost, and that repairs are free.

I've posted it over on the VM News category.

The Spotify/VM deal will be discounted monthly rates, exclusive content, special features (TiVo integration). That hasn't started yet.

This is just an offer for renewing customers.

My sources has not given me news about any channels (SD or HD Channels) coming soon to Virgin TV.

Broadcast: PBS sets UK launch date - Talks still ongoing with Virgin.

US broadcaster PBS has unveiled its launch date in the UK, with general manager Richard Kingsbury promising “broadsheet TV”.

The 24-hour pay-TV channel will launch on 1 November, in the entertainment section of the EPG, and is in negotiations with Virgin Media. It is a joint venture between rights holder PBS Distribution and entrepreneur David Lyons.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. III.

What is it going to show? Doesn't it just show cheap-as-chips kids programming and whatever BBC America doesn't show from BBC and ITV in the US?

Making it essentially UKTV in one channel, ran by a former UKTV head.

Do we get the HD version in this deal? :p:

Whatever responses you get on Twitter/Facebook/Community Forums/Customer Services about channels are deliberately ambiguous so that they leave a small chance of whatever launching without promising or mentioning anything directly so that you don't up sticks and leave. It does not mean they are actually going to launch any time soon if ever.

The Following is not from any of my insiders.

Have not got an exact date launch, was lead to believe it was the 10th August. However once it launches "very soon it will be availible to XL TV customers who have Sky Sports HD for no extra monthly fee"

BizAsia: ARY Digital UK Ltd goes into liquidation.

Pakistani broadcaster, ARY Digital UK has gone into liquidation, according to details obtained from Companies House.

The Companies House says that ARY Digital UK Ltd has gone into "Voluntary Creditors Liquidation" due to heavy debts. In plain English, this means ARY Digital UK Ltd has brought about this itself and is being administered by a qualified Insolvency Practitioner.

http://media247.co.uk/bizasia/newsar...digital_uk.php

ARY Digital is broadcasting on Virgin Channel 818.
