It has been said that it could be August, but what then, trouble is VM is far behind the times, it could be months before this happens.

Everyone is arguing with each other on this matter, the Red button has been out a long time with Sky, but with VM we are still waiting, so when people watch Sky Sports, what the point when you don't have the technology that goes with it.

You would have thought that VM would have put news on the web site, but they won't. Said before VM is a long way behind Sky.

No l would not say Virgin are behind Sky as Virgin has strengths which Sky does not have and never will have like fibre optic broadband , tivo and much more video on demand then Sky.

Why are we a long way behind SKY as we have only had the red button a while:erm: And it is not fully up and running. VM are not a content provider and do not have the channels to do this on, so they have to wait for all the content providers to allow them to do this?

It has been on Sky for ages as they built it and implemented it on their platform . Work is underway as Spiderplant has said to get the service up and running for all VM customers , with TIVO boxes to follow.

I suspected Sky might throw a few games behind the red button at the end of the season but only because they have been doing this for years. I doubt it's to annoy Virgin customers.

I agree it's annoying but it's no different to the last decade or so, I am sure next season will be fine.

Because Sky haven't yet completed the red button application for VM. They are only showing some of the events.

Out of interest (from one of your earlier posts), why does Celtic playing at home mean they should be on the red button?

Because before the split whichever of the old firm plays at home they very rarely get on tv so should be same for any game during split

IIRC on previous last day deciders they've usually put the team at the top going into the last match on the "main" channel.

Certainly looks that way at the moment. If Celtic repeat their ICT perfomance against Killie or Hearts it won't matter a jot.

Arthurgray50@blu 08-05-2011 10:28

Re: sky sports red button

On Sky, you normally have several games on the red button on the final day, as the games must start at the same time.

It could be the same with the old firm games, but l would doubt that very much, as the outcome is always the same, its either Celtic or Rangers that win, so to me there is no point of the red button.

Thats what wrong with Scottish football, there is only two games that Tv always show.

No problem, it's wrong to conclude that if you support Celtic or Rangers that you are a bigot. It's lazy stereotyping and mildly rascist

Ps anything on Virgin red button?

Pps any sign of the baby yet?

For instance, are Brechin in the same football league as the Old Firm? If not, they can't be playing as well, can they?

Have they played in Europe lately, or at all? If not, as above?

Have they any players in an full international team?

And Glasgow Rangers nearly went into administration but look like they are going to be bought by a new owner.

Whoops and sorry about that :(

Erm it is about the red button. We were discussing who out of Celtic and Rangers would be on the Red button for the final game of the season.

There was no sectarianism related posts at all.

I had a courtesy call off Sky 7-10 days ago , to see how my service was going , I got talking to the guy and he stated Sky were looking to launch loads more HD and said something about hearing rumours of another Sky Sports HD channel . It was CS so maybe pinch of salt applies .

I agree pal , there are threads on DS though about clashes with sports on a regular basis , and the need for a new sports HD channel. I'm not saying it will defo happen , however there's a possibility.
