Hasn't there been rumors of Sky launching a couple of new 3D channels in the near future?

More hd channels such as Alibi,More4,and how about some +1 hd channels? It`s annoying when you have to record a program on +1 because of recording clashes and can only do it in sd.

That's ashame as it would of removed the Sky-Murdoch link. Hopefully someone buys up Sky soon. Hey Virginmedia have £6 billion of debt why not add another £3 billion and by Sky?:D:D

You do realise that News Corp, Sky's majority shareholder, has nearly $15 billion of debt - it's quite common in large corporates...

http://markets.ft.com/Research/Marke...als?s=NCRB:LSE

In fact, it raised $2.5 billion of it only last year...

I'm not sure what your point is? Sky makes over £1billion profit who cares about the Murdochs they soon won't have any Sky shares. Some of the banks that hold Virginmedia shares are billions in debt on top of Virginmedias debt.

I did not intend my comment to make this a Virgin V Sky thread.

Re: General Sky TV Discussion

My point is that most large corporates have a lot of long-term bonds and debt, and I was using a company (Sky) in the same line of business as an example, and also quoted it's parent (mostly) company.

Another example would be BT, who have a around £3 billion in bonds/debts, as well as nearly $5 billion and €3.5 billion in other bonds and debts.

LOL, Very creative Hugh:D You can't be "mostly" a parent company you either are or you aren't and Newscorp are not Skys parent company. Another member of Murdochs empire left the Sky board of directors this week. So their influence is slowly becoming less and less.

That's just it though I wouldn't save , my retentions package currently comes in at £78.00 for my listed services so with the £3.50 increase it will only take it to £81.50 until the new year.

The price of Sky Sports has increased by £1.00 from September so you'd expect this charge to filter down to other platforms who sell Sky Sports.

Good for those that don`t already subscribe but what about those like me that are already paying for it? We should get it free too for the weekend or another channel we don`t sub. to. Sky movies for a weekend would of been nice

Mmm. £15 a month after the 30 day free trial. I hate these schemes that get you to sign up for a free period and then automatically bill you after that unless you cancel.

Why wouldn't they it's probably the cheapest way to subscribe.

Just out of curiousity, why?

It is still cheaper than actually subscribing to a sky pacj and then movies on top.

Its a service that's available for those that want Sky movies without a TV pack. Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

If it streams the entire Sky movies catalogue in HD then its a good deal. I always thought Virgin were mental for thinking anyone would want to pay £5 just to use the EPG on TiVo but it seems 100's of thousands want to.

If it was £8 or £9 pounds then that would be a more reasonable price in my humble opinion.:)

Why on earth would it be that price , that would soon alienate and lose them satellite and cable Sky Movies subscribers.

I want to audition for an amigo..4 amigos..or at least get one of the horse's roles

Re: General Sky TV Discussion

Considering what Netflix and Lovefilm are charging for their joke of a service, £8-9 for a Sky Movies Pass is way too low

This is Den, you have Sky movies on your TiVo and it costs you around £15 a month on you Subs.

Now TV will be available on Youview from launch. Personally I think Youview and Now TV is a fantastic combo for people who want great TV without the expensive subscription.

I think it's a decent price.

"Instant access to hundreds of the latest titles on Sky Movies, with new and exclusive premieres available each Friday, at least a year before any other online subscription service."

Netflix and Lovefilm might be cheaper but SKY's content puts them to shame. This is the service people wanted and hoped Netflix and Lovefilm would be.

I agree , it will be interesting to see pricing models when entertainment and sports get added. Being slightly critical for the service to become a huge success HD needs to be added to all devices.

100% agree, HD is a must for this service to really work

I just realised, you will probably be on Jellybean by the time the ICS app is released!

I was going to get a Nexus 7 for Sky Go but I doubt it will be on there any time soon so might give it a miss :(
