Thank you, Andrew, some positive information at last.

So it won't be a Tivo box, which will please some, it will be an Eos box but initially with Tivo software. Hopefully, it will have six tuners and a 1TB hard drive. Particularly important is the need to overcome the slow performance of the Tivo that we have become accustomed to in more recent years. It worked well when it first came out.

What is the box on page 14 of this presentation? Could this be our first sighting of the new Eos box? It has a VM logo on it!

If anyone wants to listen to the conference call, they can do so by registering here. I don't have the time this week unfortunately.

It's true but while we will have a 4K capable box unless they do a deal with sky, it won't be a 4K content box

According to Virgin Media, we will be getting Sky Movies in 4k.

Not sure yet about Sky Sports at this point, but I suspect we will get this as well.

We don't have TiVo boxes in the UK anyway.
They are Samsung and Cisco made boxes with TiVo software.

Virgin Media market it as a Tivo box, so I guess you should take it up with them :D

"Our TiVo box is one clever bit of kit. It's packed with loads of features that make it easy for you to discover great shows and watch them the way you want to. And it has its own dedicated internet connection, so you can stream without slowing your home broadband down."

I songbird think they would leak the picture, but if that's it, I'd still upgrade but won't like design

We received a weekly newsletter to confirm VM would be getting 4K(UHD) movies, but it didn't say whether it was on-demand only or via Sky Cinema 4k(UHD)

Virgin Media’s launch of parent Liberty Global’s EOS box and the rebranding of its TiVo-based advanced TV service under the Virgin TV name will mark “a very significant step-up” in its ability to deliver on-demand programming across multiple platforms, according to CEO Tom Mockridge.

Tim Mockridge said that Virgin Media plans to add new applications and services and “lift the breadth of programming” and the overall TV experience available to subscribers, “in a way that hasn’t happened since the TiVo box was initially launched”.
