Also at the bottom of the link it also says that Disney Junior HD is set to launch in April as well?

Quote:

Also under the Sky-Disney deal, the satellite broadcaster has renewed its carriage deals to the suite of Disney networks, including the Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior, along with Disney Junior HD, which will launch in April.

Can mediaboy try and find out If we allowed channel. The way I see it is that if we are good enought to pay Disney for cinemagic then now they are in bed with sky, it would be wrong to snub us

He hasn't got a Batphone to Virgin or Sky HQs.
Do what he does - Google or even try something radical and wait until something OFFICIAL is announced.

Sheesh:rolleyes:

If VM's getting it it will only be the SD variant then...

Do Virginmedia hold any exclusivity rights with any of the major Film Companies?, just a though but if they did, they would maybe benefit from launching there own movie channel.

They simply can't compete. Sad but true. Note, this deal with Disney and Sky comes with all sorts of additional Pay Per View rights beyond the obvious...

Quote:

In addition to the launch of the new channel, the agreement gives Sky Movies the first subscription pay TV movie rights in the UK and Ireland to other titles distributed by Disney, including new movies from Lucasfilm, and also Marvel Studios features such as Iron Man 3 and Avengers Assemble, which will be broadcast across the Sky Movies portfolio of channels.

Then its time for Ofcom to damn well get off their butts to stop Sky using their typical age old nefarious tactics where we pay more then their own subscribers and then they withhold certain channels or HD variants from Virgins platform.

Maybe the new takeover may give VM more bargining power, but they need to move forward, or they are going to risk losing more TV Subscribers.

It's all well and good oferring the most up to date PVR, but if they ain't got the content, it don't matter how good it is at wishlist and the like. Try searching for Game Of Thrones!, MMm. I had to go to Blinkbox for that.

I thought that when I was a full VM VIP customer. Now I have Sky for TV and VM for BB, Its cheaper, yes I only get the channels on the main TV, but I use the Tivo's three tuners to records all the freeview stuff and use the Sky box to watch all the glorious HD.

Its cheaper than just having VM too.

VM's losing its touch - and thats not up to Ofcom to bail them out. You get what you pay for. VM isn't bothered frankly.
