Had to go over to Brighton today for a client meeting with some UK and German engineers. Beautiful day so I yomped it from the rail station to up beyond the racecourse. Cold but clear and sunny, very nice walking weather if you're suitably wrapped up. Good to get out after all that rain.

More of the family tree done, gone back to 1821 on 1 branch, but to go further back will need a trip as they were from Kerry, in Eire. Feeling happy, as I'm dosed up on strong codeine for a pulled muscle in the back, I'm finally free from the stress of the last few months and I am finally feeling better in myself.

And traced another branch of ancestors to Germany. So far, from what I know I have the following blood in me:

English, Welsh, Irish, Scottish, French, German, Viking.

Truly a mongrel mix there.

Just had fantastic night. Went to see Kris Kristofferson and he must have sang about 40 or more songs including duets with his daughter, The hall was full and he had the audience in the palm of his hand, just MAGIC.

That's good news, and good news too dilli. I'd rather lose my hearing than my sight. Would hate to not have eyesight.

On a side note, an hour of research tonight has taken me, on my stepdad's side, back to 1595. His 9th great grandparents that's taken me back to. Got 545 people on it, and tomorrow when I do more there are 947 hints to get through.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

On the 12th January while I was at the hospital for a routine check up the Doctor said that he wanted to check something out. I was quite upset yesterday when a appointment for the Day Surgery Unit arrived and stated that the procedure of Flexible Sigmoidoscopy did not require sedation and I will be fully awake during it. I phoned the hospital today who said that is correct you do not require sedation so I asked to speak to someone that deals with anxious patients and was put through to the Endoscopy nurse and she was indeed very nice and understood my fears, she said that she is putting on my notes that I wish sedation she even gave me her name just in case their is any problems. Feeling better about the procedure now. I just did not fancy being awake during it, I much prefer the thought of co-operative sedation that has an amnesic effect where I am unlikely to remember the procedure.

Now that's what I call a true Nurse someone that reassures the patient and truly cares. I have emailed the hospital with praise for this lady at putting my mind at rest.

Just not looking forward to the Moviprep it really does taste disgusting

@ weenie, I know what you mean weenie. I always ask for sedation and have been given ketamine for both colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy procedures. Although, for me, it doesn't wipe out my memories it does kind of put them in a box and although I kind of remember the Ketamine makes it tons more bearable. I just wish the horrible PREP!!!!!! was as easily forgotten. <<<hugs>>> in advance.

Thanks Mark, I can't wait to be a Gran but I reckon that is a few years away as he still has 2 years left at Uni and then there is no guarantee of a job at the end of his course at least he is not studying the run of the mill stuff so he will have a better chance than most, a good job is so hard to get nowadays at least when I left school you went on a YTS and most of the time you got a job at the end of it. At the moment he works part time at Sainsburys to help with the books he needs etc.

I'm on cloud nine atm so very happy that my eldest son is taking his next journey in life with his very beautiful young lady

How u doing I hope you a getting on with life and back to your old self.

Health. Suffered with a really bad stomach ache for 36 hours, combined with chronic back pain over my kidneys. Called NHS 111 who said I needed to be seen in A&E urgently, as I had the classic signs of a triple a. Thankfully after 10 hours of tests, etc they say I haven't got a triple a but have no idea what is causing the pain in the stomach. So I will have to put up with it until it disappears but thank God there was nothing serious wrong with me.

Popped into Sainsbury's this evening to pick up some wine and a few things that I had Nectar vouchers for, and was planning to buy in the next few days, and at the till got an reward voucher for 2000 points ( £10 ). :)

More wine methinks. :D

Yes those Nectar vouchers and points do come in useful that's for sure.

Got over 5,000 points stashed at the moment. I keep them for a rainy day. Sometimes we've been very short of the readdies and the points have provided the provisions.

Make sure you use the card at least once a year or the points vanish, the other half had 20000 points on a card her sister gave her and when she eventually looked they'd gone

Superbowl 50 champions! So pleased today, might have been a low scoring game and put performed stats wise, but it was a Broncos win that's all I care about!

The transplant team phoned this morning to make it all official - they revised my estimated waiting time for eight months! - I am still not sure how I feel about that :)

You will have to stop these unexpected trips to hospital dilli. I bet your I-Spy- Medical Conditions Book is pretty much all ticked out by now. :D

Seriously though, I am so happy for you that this latest visit has ended better than you thought may be the case. <<hugs>>
