just watching the golf on sky sports HD 3 and the highlights of the Irish Open and the live US Seniors open are all in HD via the red button.

Thanks. Does the red button take you directly to whatever it is or do you get a menu screen showing everything that's on red button?

with regards to the golf you press the red button and you get 3 x small live screens and you then just select the one you want to watch, this is really useful when watching multiple champions league matches etc because you can watch all the matches simultainiosly then if there is a goal etc you just select that match.... hope this answers your question.

I'd love to know if spider plant knows this, but is it possible to provide red button HD feeds as these would be the icing on the cake for the Sky Sports red button.

I wonder if Sirius watched the Rugby League red button , I know how much he likes the Warriors.

There's no technical reason why not (on cable at least, and I can't imagine satellite would be any different).

But commercially I'd guess it's not viable. 14 HD streams wouldn't come cheap. They'd still have to carry SD versions for the majority of users who don't have HD-capable boxes.

(I wonder if Sky have redeployed their old SD production kit on the red button feeds? Would make sense)

Would it be possible to say have a mix , so maybe two red button games on match choice in HD with the remainder in SD , at least people would then be able to see the game on the channel in HD plus two more , just wondering my tech knowledge of these things is limited :D

! Seems quite high profile for red button, should be interesting to see how City does though.
