Further to my post in the moans thread yesterday, after being able to prove in the end that I deposited £70 into my account it corrected itself this morning. They were full of apologies about what had happened. I've asked that they look at this so it doesn't happen again which they agreed to.

Had it affected Direct Debits due out before Christmas then I would have pushed for a goodwill gesture of compensation but as it stands I am not out of pocket anything and DD's got paid so I will just accept their apology and hope they can find what happened so it doesn't happen again.

The people in London who travel on the London Underground.

I'll explain.

Yesterday I needed to get my mum to the UCLH in central London.

The only way was by tube, and as she can't walk to far (she was bed bound for 4 months, 3 were Nil By Mouth) so we had to use a wheelchair.

The guard at Epping asked if we needed help at our destination station, I said thanks but it would not be required.

We got to Tottenham Court Road Tube and a I was help off the tube. we got to the 1st of 3 sets of stairs which my mum walked up with me behind with the folded wheelchair a guy offered help, but I said I was OK, as I was walking up he was walking near me I then felt someone just lift the end of the chair.

Even on the escalators the guard asked we needed help.

The only thing I had issues with was the gap & height differences between train and platform.

That is nice.

I was supposed to be going to London today with Natalie and her mum - but I must admit I didn't think I could cope with it all in the chair.

It's nearly Christmas. Months of planning and stressing over and done with in a matter of minutes (presents certainly). Now for new year to hurry up and come round so we can forget all about the madness until next August.

---------- Post added at 22:18 ---------- Previous post was at 22:16 ----------

And before people call me a Scrooge, I loved Christmas. But now it is so commercialised and starts so early that by Christmas Eve I have had enough of it for the year. Why can't we go back to how it was decades ago when it was more about spending time with family and loved ones, not about how much money we spend on presents and whether poor little so and so has the same game, phone or trainers as their friend who gets all the latest designer gear for Christmas every year.

I'll worry about that when, or if, it happens Den. For now the sun is shinning and I refuse to worry about things that I have no control over. No doubt I will be back to being a worrywart soon enough.

I just wish the recent heavy rains hadn't caused so much havoc and hope those effected can recover some semblance of normality before any predicted bad weather hits us.

Made my stepdad happy today, he asked me to see if I could trace his family back. I was happy to report to him today that I had gone back to his great great great great grandparents, who were married in 1786. Now to fill out the rest of the tree as best I can.

Hospital was good for a change, they finally found out what was wrong with my leg last year. I had a muscle tear and bleed apparently :) so in theory that's all that's left from stopping me getting my transplant - yay :)

I checked my bank today and No Veneer In Here has indeed been as good as there word as full refund is in the bank.

My new furniture came from Oak Furniture King and I am over the moon with it. In the end we got tv unit, lamp table and nest of tables. The furniture seems to be the same as no veneer in here.

Dog was not included in the sale LOL.

A very complicated part of my life has now finally been closed. Hopefully they get the help they need before they are allowed contact with other human beings.
