Did you not know about this clandestine alien invasion that took place? It's about time they started thinking about re-naming these channels before the younger generation get totally confused!!

It truly is! imagine a young kid thirsty for some history programming, some education, some insight into human history....he searches his channels...a THE HISTORY channel. up comes mulder meeting an alien in a warehouse. he flicks again to see a show about a pawn shop buying comic books at a knock down price...

truly depressing!

Yeah but those train tickets from anywhere in the south to Manchester sure are expensive though. ;). It's pricey to be a glory supporter in this day and age:D #Amberarmy

Not sure where this question fits so thought i'd shove it here...(thats what she said ooh er) does anyones tv anywhere app on the iphone mess up sometimes and say "your shows could not be found because your tivo box doesnt appear to be connected to the internet. please fix the connection or try again"

i had this problem for about 6 weeks a few months back. Nothing was wrong with my connection. my home network was fine. it worked a treat. But yet the app stubbornly kept coming up with this message. It then suddenly fixed itself without me doing anything after a few weeks...

its now started doing it again. does this happen to anyone else??

I get that occasionally vince, quick reboot of the TiVo normally does the trick as it reconnects it to the network.

Re-boot your TiVo and it clears up :)

Yes.
Same here. But the good old fashion advice does it. Re-boot.

The whole time i have had a TIVO i have not been able to get this to work, would be handy for remote record when i am out and about but no matter what i try it is adamant that my TIVO is not on my home network. It is as i can use Netflix and on demand without any hitches

I think your getting a little confused , TIVO uses its internal modem for Netflix and iplayer. To use the mobile apps to use remote control functionality etc you need to connect the TIVO to your BB router via Ethernet cable or if its further away possibly use homeplugs.

He doesn't need a home network to use remote record, it works without that.

The TV Anywhere app works without the TiVo being connected to your home network. You can view the TV guide, remote record, etc, the only thing you can't do if it's not connected to your home network is use your phone, tablet, etc as a remote control for the TiVo.

You will always get a warning when you go into the app that certain functions (i.e. the remote control) are not available until you connect to your home network.

If you want to connect your TiVo to you home network, have a look here - http://help.virginmedia.com/system/s...MER_TYPE=Cable

Swiss youth channel Joiz coming to the UK and in talks with partners

A future channel launch?

Quote:

BroadbandTVNews "The UK has the highest priority for us,” Swiss newspaper Schweiz am Sonntag quotes Alexander Mazzara, CEO and founder of joiz. Talks with potential partners have already taken place.

Joiz website: http://joiz.com/

Interestingly, Joiz went to to court in 2012 and got the Swiss courts to insist that UPC carried its channel. Maybe relationships between Liberty and Joiz have improved since then!

All you can do is talk to them Vince. I spoke to retentions three times last month, and wasn't happy with what they offered. I gave a months notice and got a call from another department two days later. After turning down their first two offers I took a deal which gives me 50mb broadband, basic phone, XL TV and sports and movies in HD for £75 a month. I pay the line rental in advance, so it's really £60 a month for a year. The line rental was still £120 when I paid but that will be £144 when I renew in December. It pays to talk.
