If you don't want to see his DNP stuff, ignore his posts. Repeatedly spouting off rubbish about how pointless his DNP's are just wastes space on here.

As others have posted, we would still know nothing even if MB did not have DNP's. At least we know VM have something lined up in the future, and those who currently dislike the current TIVO can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Why do you think I'm taking a pop at MB? I'm simply questioning VM's system of telling a select few about forthcoming developments for no apparent reason while denying the rest of us knowledge of what is going on.

Agreed. But we are none the wiser knowing that MB and theone have received DNPs. There is always something coming soon, even if it's as trivial as The Test Card +1, so the whole arrangement is pointless.

Yes, it is a set top box that is Liberty Global's own and is operational in other European countries.

From what I can ascertain, a new improved Tivo will be available to Virgin Media customers later this year or early next, and when that has had its day, this will be superceded by a new up to date Horizon box.

Are you really happy with a system that gives one or two forum members updates and compels them not to tell the rest of us? What exactly is the point of that, Den?

Horizon is still a way off for Virgin Media, Richard.

It gives you something to look forward too.

Well you must think we are easily pleased! :D

Why would we be thrilled to hear that a DNP notice had been issued when in all likelihood it would be nothing more than a channel number change?

The whole idea is propostrous. Of course you'll support it, theone, you are, after all, one of the privileged few. :naughty:

Exactly - to paraphrase Donald Rumsfeld "there are known unknowns and unknown unknowns". I for one would prefer know there is something coming (hence the point of all this) even if I can't know the details rather than not know anything at all.

Either VM launch new TIVOs and stick with them for the next several years, or they don't and they go down the Horizon route for new stuff.

My best guess is that current tivos will get an "improved" user interface this year and then VM will launch Horizon as a premium product to bring VM's services into line with the rest of LG's operations. Assuming that is that Horizon now works, which it didn't when it first launched...

I'm sure most on here enjoy looking forward to the possibility of something arriving to vm.
Maybe OB you are afraid of the unknown? :p:
I neither support or unsupport it i'm neutral on it, once i get the nod to reveal the info then i will reveal it in the mean time maybe you should relax and enjoy the ride.

It's ridiculous, theone, and there is no point in the system.

There is always something 'coming soon' to VM, either big or small. The announcement of yet another DNP notice without any hint at all is absolutely meaningless.

Oh, I've just had a really good idea.

But I'm not telling....

Did that make you all excited? :knock:

Didn't think so... :o:

We know that a new Tivo is coming and it will rival Sky Q.

The Horizon STB box will follow later. How much later may be determined by the nature of VM's contract with Tivo.

Are we really getting this software update this week

" That will all change, he adds, beginning this week. The user interface will get an overhaul to make its menus slicker and more picture-based."

I've seen a DNP and it had projected pricing, so there is commercial sensitivity about these things, which makes me wonder why they send them out. When I've received confidential information for the VMHD blog I don't mention it unless I'm specifically told I can.
Regarding Horizon: Virgin and TiVo signed a new agreement a year ago that has a couple of years still to run (it expires 2018 - story here)

Hazarding a guess, I would say that it has already started as they are already trialling it.

I'd imagine so but nothing has been stated yet as to how many tivos people will be allowed but we think the option will be there for multiple tivos in a household.
