Time for a call to Sky.

Why are you only looking at one aspect of the service? Presumably have BB and phone?

You should look at the total cost of all services and if all the services are equal, or suit your needs and sky is still cheaper, then move to Sky. When you add fibre BB from Sky though, their comparable prices take a hit. But then, maybe ADSL is adequate for you?

Yup, it finally triggered in my head that I don't need fast broadband because I don't download anything. Barring BT Sports being £22pm, Sky is cheaper for me because I don't need fibre.

That would suggest it is time to move - should that be your desire ;)

Is that the VIP Collection? As it is £99 plus £14.99 Line Rental per month.

yep just discovered that. bloody line rental.

So it's actually £5 cheaper, but still a rip off given the half price offer.

Might go to sky which is £103 for same stuff (less internet but more sports hd), and then move back when next half price offer is on.

If you are out of contract phone retentions, and get a new 12/18 moth contract because you effectively a "new" customer. I did it a year or so aago and will try it again when this contract runs out:)

TV XL with Tivo is coming out at £37.00 per month via Virgins website. You get 27 HD channels plus ESPN.

SKY Entertainment Extra is £31.50 for 45 HD channels. You will however have to pay an extra £13.00 per month for ESPN. You will also need broadband to get SKY's full on demand and catch up service.

What happens to ESPN, and the XL package, in the next few months could be a big factor in who offers the best TV service at the best price. Personally I think based on the above information, Virgin offer the best value for now.

It's £37 without the phone line

It's £29.50 with a landline http://store.virginmedia.com/digital...-tv/tv-xl.html
