I've downloaded Oracle software and patches (hundreds of meg) and it starts at over 1000kB/s but drops usually below the expected 360. (I'm on 3Mb). |
Re: ntl Confirms 10Mb Broadband Speed Increase
Just a question to those that are thinking of upgrading to 3 meg so that they can get the 10 meg upgrade when it arrives. What if and i mean this as a WHAT IF not a THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN. What if NTL dont upgrade anyone on 3 meg till the 30th of December are you all going to get on to customer service or post on here and complain bitterly how you were ripped off ?.
Just a question. |

I upgraded from 2 meg to 3 meg to get the upgrade in November. But you did not upgrade me till "insert date here" NTL. So when did we give a firm date for November . A Person. You did not. but you still ripped me off, I want my extra money back. Or i will disconnect Now what you going to do about that. Could happen  Anyone willing to have a wee little bet how long before the first complaint is made. |
Re: ntl Confirms 10Mb Broadband Speed Increase
Bill I think that you make a very fair point here mate, why does every1 have to have the fastest instantly if you want a fast broadband connection why your still living in the UK....Sweden on average has 10mb connections all over the place, so do Finland, Norway and Holland (if you pay a bit more you can get even higher then 10 or 20mb)
so stop complaining and moaning that its not here yet and just be bloody patient the upgrade will come just wait and see!!!!! |
Re: ntl Confirms 10Mb Broadband Speed Increase
Bill: Say for example 3 meg people are upgraded next week, can someone on 2 meg upgrade to 10 meg on the £37.99 package on that day or a day later?

Bill im on 3 meg so what i asked will not effect me, you do not need to go out of your way to find out the information. |
Re: ntl Confirms 10Mb Broadband Speed Increase
from being on dial up 5 years ago to 10 meg in 2006 isnt to shabby
and the comparisons have been done 10000000 times before with sweden and the reasons why they have it faster (its not all rosey) ... |
Re: ntl Confirms 10Mb Broadband Speed Increase
Didnt NTL have a share in Swedens biggest isp Bredbandsbolaget which is also the isp i mentioned are getting the free 100 meg upgrades next year.

I am perfectly happy to wait till December 31st, but i would be pretty miffed if it wasn't there on that date. I never complain to NTL and probably haven't had to because i have had a first class service from them. But i would have wasted just £1 short of £40 on upgrading for no reason which i would look to be reimbursed for (assuming the NTL Release actually said before the end of 2005 and it wasn't my misreading). Please correct me if the wording didn't actually say before the end of 05. Still i am 99% sure it will be in November/December so it's a fait mute point. |

Re: ntl Confirms 10Mb Broadband Speed Increase
Why are you all whinging about not being upgraded first if you are on 2 or 1meg? and why should you get a discount, I don't have VOD in my area yet so should I be asking for a discount then?
Stop moaning and deal with it! |
