For example, how many people have watched 'Kingdom'? If VM advertised it as 'only available on Virgin Premier Television HD on demand' or 'exclusive to Virgin Premier Television HD on demand', this would give all these exclusives in one place and customers would be accustomed to hearing it. This would encourage viewers to seek it out. They should also advertise this generally, not just to Virgin customers, to conjure up new subscribers.

This does seem like a good development and it looks as if there is much more to come. An exciting time to be a VM customer, particularly with a new Tivo just around the corner.

An new app is still testing as well.

On the "Virgin Premier Television on Demand" idea.

Why not relaunch Virgin1 and launch Virgin1 HD.

And use the All3Media back catalogue to full up the channel from launch.

On Demand's the future Old Boy, none of this linear TV nonsense. ;) And Kingdom is advertised on billboards as exclusive to VM.

Odd, as I thought ITV Encore was being lined up as a premium channel unless ITV plan to have a bouquet of pay/premium channels along with their free-to-air ones?? I don't see how a ITV PPV channel fits into ITV's current model.

On a different note, I noticed on that Ofcom page that Vodafone now have a few channels licensed. Everyone it seems is jumping onto the tv bandwagon at the moment...

Hard to disagree with you on this point.

We've not yet seen Malone's plans fully realized yet, I don't think. But if VM were to launch their own channels again, you could add Lionsgate content into that for a start.

Very interesting as it would be great if a lot of boxing was FTA as l believe a lot more people would watch it then.

DS Poster "Andyland" is reporting that he just noticed that Film4 and E4 are now available to stream on the TV Anywhere mobile app.

But no new channels is set to launch on Virgin Media UK we have all of them.

Maybe Eurosport News will relaunch in the UK on Virgin Media?

Andy is wondering if this could mean all the Discovery channels coming to TV Anywhere.

Didn't know that they weren't all on there as last time I looked it wasn't available to Android users.

Wow that came in quite, I read it was testing but when did Universal Channel become available in HD to VM viewers? I am so pleased not to see some of my favourite programmes in poor PQ anymore :)

I suppose none of these will be coming soon in HD

Well, all the VM exclusives are on demand right now. The advantage of having a named channel on which on demand programmes appear is that people start identifying with it. Virgin should also have a link to it by channel number to make it easier for people unfamiliar with on demand.

I certainly have no objection at all if Virgin want to create a linear channel, but I don't know if this would profit them to do so if some of the programming was to be exclusive to VM. They would need a decent sized audience to make a linear channel pay.

Hopefully, the Olympic Channel will be making its way to Virgin's on demand system on 21 August.

From the article that was posted yesterday, it did suggest that the new programmes they have lined up would be on-demand only.
