But so I upgrade to 3mb say during this week, am I still eligable then for the upgrade now I am paying £37.99?

If so I shall upgrade. BUT I want to be sure that now I am on 3mb and paying the premium price do I get the premium speed of 10mb.

i hate moany self righteous customers who do nothing but moan and expect a company to cave in to to there every desire. your not that important saxo, your not as important as a user paying more than you, and its only fair if you pay less you get less. Do NTL care if they lose you? no, i doubt it, just another moaning customer. Ofcourse top people at NTL care about losing customers in masses, but the regular NTL employee just thinks your an annoying moany dick. So pay more, or stop moaning. You already get a good service for £25 a month, and your 100k is probably your bit torrent downloading movies anyway. Use good servers and you will always get decent speeds <mod edit: Chris W> Personal Insult removed.

i work in customer service, tho not for NTL and i cant stand people who think companies owe them the world. Your paying for 600k, which gets upgraded to 2mb, and you still moan because people who pay more get more.

i am on 2mb, and im happy to wait until NTL decide to upgrade me to 10mb, or 8mb, whatever were getting on 2mb. So i advise you do the same. It would be nice if we all got 2mb tomorrow but it is not going to happen, and i accept the facts and i am happy with how they are doing it. NTL dont owe you anything. Change ISP's and go to adsl with there substandard tecnology and feel good that u really dented NTL, they will miss your £25 a month. Oh wait, nobody else in your area is as good as NTL...

and yes if you upgrade now i assume you will get 10mb the same time as all other 3mb users, so you can downloaded all your porn 5x faster then.

Actually the bulk of my bandwith is used weekly on sending family movies and images in large high res zip files to friends on the USA, also updating my many games and downloading mod's patches for a friends server.

well, yeah, the upload on NTL is probably he only thing that lets them down. INO they could.should be more generous with the upload speeds. on 10mb they should give you about 1mb upload, but for some reason theydont like upload.

that is my only complaint about ntl.

I heard it was 400k then 512k then only 300k on the top tier 10mb.

Well it looks like the upgrade has started in Mansfield, I turned my machine on this morning and my modem was dead, I rebooted it and did a speed test, my 3meg is flying now.

I havent reset my modem yet but when I start downloads now with rapidshare it goes at 900 kb/sec and then gradually drops down to 360... hmm Im gonna reset my modem now methinks :)

do I just simply unplug it for 2/3 minutes (just take the power lead out of the back of the modem) and then plug it back in or what? :)

Well trying to talk the gf into upgrading it is money we do not really have right now due to a family emergency, however we both use the network we have alot for family in other countries.

Is 3mb also got the higher upload over the 2mb?

3meg currently has 300k upload which we believe is being increased to 500k.

I have pretty much everything crossed..... some people on Source with NTL as their ISP are complaining of a lot of choke and strange pings, must be NTL doing work at their local hub (or whatever u call them!).....
