Just hardwired 2 dashcams without any real issue, hardest part was finding the right fuse in the 3008 to piggyback off of. Now I'm out of the sun and have a cold beer, good times!

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Nice relaxing day myself. Had the best nights sleep last night for weeks. From half 11 to half 7. Popped out for papers, and a bit of shopping and then relaxed all day. Feel better as well since starting aspirin.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Down in Cornwall looking after mum. She's getting better each day. The sun is also finally out after two days of grey sky and rain. :)

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Should be good when it is all done , maybe cheaper and more heat and hot water Den
|
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Yes the housing trust guy said it would definitely be cheaper nash when he came this morning and they have just fitted it to the wall and it makes the old one look like a rusty old dinosaur.

I managed to cancel sky without a load of hassle which was scary in itself. Soon I can cancel BT too.
I am considering just having a cable modem. Just freeview (I have a youview box) and no landline :) |

Just received a call from a very dear friend of mine, my first neighbour and she is coming up from England in a fortnights time. She has asked me to buy some Mother's pride and tattie scones and make them some caramel cake :)
I'm really looking forward to them visiting and can't wait to see her and meet her OH. |
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Nice to have your friend for a visit, When we went to see my son a few weeks ago in London we took Black Pudding, Square Sausages, and Tattie Scones, He always takes them back when he comes here too

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Well my mum starts here 9th week in the Royal Free in London.
On Saturday we were told they are seeing if a space is available they will transfer her to my local hospital, which will mean no more 4 hour round trips on the hell that is called the "London Underground". |
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Sorry to hear that your Mum is still in hospital but at least there is some good news for you.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
We decided to go to Newquay today after I had been to the dentist, my appointment was for 10.50. I waited 25 minutes to be seen and was convinced we had missed the bus due at 11.20. When I told the dentist this she very kindly waived her fee £18.80 as an apology. How kind was that? Incidentally, lucky for us the bus was running late, we had a great time and the weather was brill! :):):)

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
I had a brilliant eureka moment an hour or so ago. Anybody who has delved into family history will appreciate how I feel when I say I found a big chunk of a jigsaw puzzle that most family trees are.
A 5 had been transcribed as a 3 in an old census so it took a typo from me to find what I'd been looking for for months. There are advantages to having iffy keyboard skills:D |
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Yeah I stopped doing my family tree. Got bored with it. Hoping a while away from it will make me want to get back into it.
|
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
I worked with a few people that are so stupid I think they fell out of their family tree.

When you're really stuck there are always people who are willing to help for nowt if you visit the right sites. While it would be nice to discover everything for yourself it's often impossible to get past a brick wall without a second set of eyes or someone with access to local sources you wouldn't otherwise be able to find elsewhere. (I have access to a few particularly Northern Ireland, Lancashire and some army&navy sources so always happy to help anyone if needed) Also: Newspaper archives. Use them if you have access. You might be surprised what you find. |
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
It's currently 36c here in Alanya (I don't do heat)
However apart from the searing heat I'm having a great holiday, well apart from the hotel 200m up the road that was firebombed on the first night night and the large demonstration outside the hotel that ended up with the Turkish police firing teargas and Us being escorted to our rooms Seems to have settled down now though !! |

Yes l have to see the doctor on Friday about a few things as she wants a few other things checked like kidneys , creatinine , liver levels and my aching feet.
|
Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
The doctor referred me to the skeletal / muscular clinic to see if they know what's going on - and upped my morphine dose.
