We then need to ask the question why the hell do vigin offer a hd box yeah some on demand hd but there is only so many times you can watch blue planet/ planet earth in hd. Yeah we have bbc hd but lets be honest how much stuff do you see thats really worth watchin on bbc hd..... I have spoken to virgin re cancelin my contract as I took it on the base they were going to offer more hd channels in the 1st quarter of this year.. there answer you signed a contract tough luck, take legal advice/ take us to court etc etc

Now i can also argue I signed up based on the fact I was gettin setanta free I wonder what they will say then !!! Yup tough luck mate, So unless I buy my self out of the contract Im stuck till jan 2010. Then I will spread my wings and fly. Whats the point in me havin a top hd tv and sound system and havin sod all hd content to watch .

virgin should not keep telling customers they are getting things when they clearly are not. I'll give it another 18 months and Mr branson will remove his remaining stake in virgin and take his brand name with him.

Before you say it yeah I know HD channels coming soon HA HA HA

Yes, that is very true, but at the moment I have just one HD channel which I watch only once a week, and so I can do without it right now.

Ahh see i have sky hd good old friends and family package extra cheap! I couldnt be without my hd now! The misses loves hollyoaks in hd lol! Even she notices the difference and she isnt the most advanced technoligy wise if you know what i mean.

NON Virgin Media News but look good for Virgin Viewers

ESPN America is available as part of the News & Events pack on the sky platform (Channel 417) in The UK.

So that mean if Virgin sign an new deal with ESPN for their new Sport Channel.

ESPN America may move to the Virgin XL package with ESPN Classic launching on Virgin TV.

Setanta going down has opened up a whole can of worms for the providers, and they'll be busy in the next month to see how many customers they can keep and what deals they can reach with ESPN as a broadcaster, and other prospective sport rights holders for the multitude of other content they broadcast.

Setanta Football channels news update: (Info from Digital Spy)

Celtic TV, the television channel for Celtic FC operated by Setanta Sports, has ceased broadcasting and will not return until a deal with a new rights holder is struck.

In a statement, Celtic said: "...we cannot make any guarantees, we hope that in the future there may be further opportunities to re-instate a club channel under any new rights holder and this is something which we will be investigating.''

Arsenal said that its TV channel would continue broadcasting in the short term but the club will evaluate its long term viability.

If for any reason they raise the price to accommodate for a sport channel then yes for me I would rather rip them off for trying to rip me off.

But that's what I would personally do and wouldn't influence anyone else's views on a price rise and what to do.

Or maybe it sums up ESPN. Or maybe they're still haggling over the price. Or maybe they're working on a bigger, better deal for VM customers. Or maybe, ... well anything, really. Give it some time, wait to see what happens.
