No it doesn't make sense to do them together (although I wish they would LOL!). Reason for this is to minimise the impact on the network if it all goes Pete Tong.... similar reason for a gradual roll-out across the country really... They should do modems first though... simply because I have a modem ;)

Manchester STB users have been upgraded and I am sure afew have posted earlier in this thread.

I think I'm still on 2mb:
Network Access : Enabled Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 2048000 bps Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 200000 bps Maximum Number of CPEs : 1 Software Upgrade File Name : ntlhm100_ntl0001.cpr Software Upgrade AdminStatus : allowProvisioningUpgrade Software Upgrade OperStatus : completeFromProvisioning
(hope that paste works?)
This is in the Darlington (DL2) area, anyone else round here been u/graded yet? Will the NTLHome 100's work with 4Mb?

Customer Services says: "You should already be on 4meg, your area has been upgraded. Call Technical Support and they can sort that out for you."

Technical Support says: "Your area hasn't been upgraded yet, but will be by the end of the month - I can't be any more specific than that, sorry."

Glad you understand the intricacies on the upgrade and can make a estimation of how much work is involved and how few Engineers are around now to do it. I take it you think they flick there fingers and all is done.

Do me a favour as you understand the CATV network so well can you let NTL know how to do it at the flick of a finger. That way the 1.7 million customers will be done far quicker. ;)

LOL :)

well that would involve them spending money, and commissioning some professional programmers to create a propper software system that can better automate the software deployment to the hardware ,ohh and pay the hard working Engineers more cash and incentives to stay around, as if their going to do that :) .................

Speed doubled today (or maybe yesterday) in North East Surrey (Leatherhead). Download of ~480kB/s

Hi there,

I'm in Peterborough (PE4 to be precise) and my speed upgrade took me from 2MB to 2.4MB download and 0.4MB upload. I've reset the modem (Home 120) and rebooted the PC several times over the past couple of days.

Has anyone else in the area been upgraded successfully?

Should work fine with NTLHome 100. I've been upgraded to 4mb; I've got a NTLHome 100 and get about 3.8mbs on average. See my previous post for the speed test results.
