Any factual figures you can give me then MM?.;)

No I don't Den, sorry, but going by the number of ppl on here who have said that they aren't very impressed with the TiVo, in comments made on these forums over the past year or so, gives the impression it's probably quite high overall.

You have to remember the disgruntled and the malcontented will always propagate to these type of forums on the internet and are a very vocal minority but as l say everybody is entitled to their opinion on things even though many others might disagree with them.:)

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015) Vol. 2

I've made my mind up, I'm dropping Tivo and the phone line.
I was one of the first to get Tivo, always sang its praises, but now it's so slow and clunky.
Tonight instead of recording Four in a Bed on 4hd, (series linked) it recorded half of ITV HD's The Chase, even though MY Shows and the Info Banner say Four in a Bed, I think Tivo is tired, haha!

The channels I record are on Freeview and NowTV, so after Christmas it's all going.
The loss of DD5.1 via optical was the begining of the end, the new price rise is the last straw. No matter whats coming soon, Virgin have lost me as a TV customer. Over the years I got 10 friends and family to sign up, with only one as a refer a friend offer, most of them don't know about the increase but the ones that do are ditching the TV.

I've recently ended 2 Virgin Mobile contracts too, as no 4G, the silly Freestyle tariffs and the loss of £5 discount for other Virgin services make the network seem stale.

Tivo has never become what VirginMedia, (and me) wanted it to be.

H2 HD is now testing but no sign of History HD.:dozey:

For the first time, i am considering dropping the TV package all together, and going with Freeview, with the option to stream with NOW TV, Netflix, etc.

I can't help feeling the VM are slipping behind in TV content.

I live with my parents and they've been with VM for nearly 25 years. Because of VM's recent antics, I have been longing for the day for them to switch to Sky. Better content for a considerably lower price.

I have been a happy customer of VM for a good few years. However, I'm now seriously thinking of moving some or all of the services to other platforms.
TiVo. Is it me or is it getting slower and slower. The EPG can't handle anything other than what was planned 2 weeks prior, any changes and it records what it wants.
Recordings randomly get deleted. No chance of 4k or more tuners etc etc
Internet. You can give me a 500mb line, but the bandwidth is so abysmal its like having a formula 1 car and only being able to drive it in rush hour traffic.
The WiFi is the worst I have ever encountered. It's so off and on I think it is secretly transmitting in Morse code.
Phone line. It's OK, but I'm now sure there is someone paid to unwrap a sweet wrapper when I try to use it!!!

As Denphone often intimates, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Each service has its pros and cons. Now, I'm part-way into a BT TV contract, I miss my freeview and freesat days - I think we take it for granted how good our free-to-view offerings are in this country.

If I could get out of my contract, I'd switch to a free-to-view offering and spend the saved money on Netflix and Amazon Instant Video. I think on-demand programming is the future - watching programs when you're ready to, instead of when the schedules dictate. And some of the Amazon or Netflix exclusives are very good indeed :)

The price rise in Feb, will allow you to break your contract without penalty if you do it by 31st dec, so my letter says.

---------- Post added at 08:23 ---------- Previous post was at 08:22 ----------

actually just re read that, and it actually says you can change or cancel your package, without penalty before 31st dec.

I'm surprised Virgin media haven't dropped their tv package since they only really focus on broadband speeds. Everything they've launched was in a desperate attempt to keep customers.

There is already a thread about the new Sky box. Please don't dicuss it here. This is for channels coming To VM.

BAH Humbug lol

Technically it says "Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015) Vol. 2", it doesn't mention channels.

As TiVo is part of Virgin TV, it should be ok to discuss rival products and compare it to what VM may bring out....(not meant to sound rude in any way)

I think it was me who started going off topic...sorry Stephen, I will stick to the topic from now on.
I'm not looking to start an argument or cause any trouble, I will follow the rules.
